Strike three. You're out. First time I've been back here since I called strike one on another poster.

Do you have anything to say about the topic or do you want to keep making this about me?

I have had a bad sore throat, aching muscles, slight fever, sore joints for the last few days. I had to do some grocery shopping today. I didn’t wear a mask out of fear and control. I wore a mask out of respect for others. I didn’t want to breathe my crappy cold germs onto others. If anything, the pandemic taught some of us how not to spread germs so readily. This is not political, it’s common courtesy. Is there an issue with that?

    Yes. FOR. THEIR. INTENDED. PURPOSES.

Who said I oppose masks? I've quite literally told you that I support the usage of masks, but only FOR. THEIR. INTENDED. PURPOSES.

With that said, I refuse to play the Mr. Rogers game of "make believe" that masks can somehow stop, prevent, or protect people from viruses. That is NOT one of their intended purposes. It says so right on the damn packaging for goodness sake.

    Yes.

You still breathed on them anyway, dude, mask or not. Masks do not stop airflow. You spread your germs around all the same, but if wearing ceremonial garb around makes you feel better, then have at it. I won't mandate that you remove your mask, but I WILL tell you and others the truth that what you are doing isn't doing anyone any good with regard to spreading germs around.

Five different dust mask types & when to use them

"For clarity, respirators are designed to protect the wearer from exposure to airborne particulate hazards such as smoke, dust, viruses, aqueous and oil-based aerosols. Conversely, surgical masks – usually tested to EN 14683 – are designed to protect other people from the wearer, by preventing biological particles from being expelled into the environment. As for the ‘stylish’ fashion accessories we also see these days; they may help in combating Coronavirus to a degree but have little or no protection against dust particles or fumes."

    https://www.protrade.co.uk/blog/five-different-dust-mask-types-when-to-use-them/

If a particular type of surgical mask is worn, that may prevent the wearer from spreading their disease, but at what cost to the wearer?

But of course. I'm talking about daily usage for 8+ hrs.

    Intended purposes:

    1. Protect patients and healthcare workers from people who may have a respiratory infection or to protect sterilized or disinfected medical devices and supplies.
    2. Reduce viral transmission from person to person

Anyway, the pandemic is behind us and no one is required to wear masks, although some businesses (mostly those who serve the elderly) still choose to require them to protect their clients. The new bill pushed by DeSantis criminalizes such requests, which is why its an authoritarian overreach.

False. A good mask worn properly reduces viral transmission by about 70%. If you are sick, and need to visit public places like grocery stores and have any respect for fellow citizen, you should wear one to protect them from your viruses. You won't do it because you don't give a rip how many people you infect.

Yes. The red highlight is correct.

Not the intended purposes of masks. It even says so right on the packaging that they come in. Thus, the above is a prime example of "spreading misinformation" if I ever did see it...

Not according to the White House, who still considers COVID to be an "emergency".

... except for the people who are still required to wear masks, of course.

You are now stuck in paradox.

    [1[ no one is required
    [2] some people are required

    Which is it?

I'm not familiar with this bill, and have never bothered digging into it because I don't live under Florida law.

    False.

    Doesn't work that way.

False. I won't do it because it doesn't work that way. I won't do it because I won't play the make believe game that masks can somehow protect people from viruses. If other people are soooooooo scared of contracting a virus, then they can cling onto their ceremonial garb masks and say a prayer to their Church of COVID clergy and still end up getting sick anyway.

If they are "protected" by wearing a mask, then there's no need for ME to wear a mask because THEY are already protected by THEIR mask.

Yes, those are the intended purposes.

Yes, doctors, dentists and such. You can ask your dentist to remove his, so he can sneeze into your mouth. He'll probably want to wear it anyway, so protect himself from your saliva and mucus.

When you get sick, you'll march into a grocery store without one for one simple reason: Because you don't care how many people you infect. You won't wash your hands either before touching the veggies there because of the same reason.[/QUOTE]

Scared? No, if they are not sick, they have no reason to wear one. If you are sick, you should wear one out of concern for those around you, but its a moot point, because you already said you don't give a rip.

The message on masks and shots has been constantly shifting as the story changes. Today it is commonly accepted that Covid is just another virus with effects much like the flu and rarely requires a hospital stay. It's mostly take two aspirin and call me in the morning sort of thing. I have recently been through some medical tests, two MRIs and a visit to a neurologist. None of the Doctors wore a mask. Strangely, my regular Doctor's clinic passed out masks as you went into the waiting room but nobody wore one when you went back to see the Doctor. Truth today (in my opinion/experience) is that most of us are no longer afraid of Covid and accept it as a near inevitability like the common cold. Treat the symptoms with Motrin and nasal spray and sinus pills and stay home for a bit.

Yes we are certainly over it at least for now.

RIP the 1.11 Million Americans who died from it.

Masks are Harmful: 17 Ways That Masks Can Cause Harm

The human body was designed to expel expired air and pathogens and not congregate in and around the mouth and nasal area.
More health issues arise from confined/enclosed and restricted area when a mask is applied.

The message on masks and shots changes as more scientific evidence is obtained and medical procedures and treatments are made better.

    Great! That means it worked!

    Score another one for science...

What worked? The damned virus simply ran it's course and nothing we did changed the outcome.

Don't you mean 'intentionally misdiagnosed' from it?

Certain pro-covid officials admit to "overcounting" the death tolls/rates comes out into the light.
