Nope, he's purely in it for the money which right now is coming from presenting a particular ideological bias.

I think that for the officers involved, January 6 would have been no jog.

What does this have to do with whether or not he told people to protest peacefully?

LOL - Trump didn't act because he wanted it to continue. He knew that forcing a decision was the only way to be re-instated as president (or dictator). Merely protesting outdoors would've accomplished nothing.

    You think?

That would be difficult to believe considering the various events that took place leading up to J6 that showed planning.

There's evidence of coordination/pre-planning between various right-wing extremist groups (including Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, etc.) to break into the Capitol building.

Donell Harvin, former D.C. homeland security chief, said his agency had intelligence of "very, very violent individuals" from these groups organizing to come to Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6. "These non-aligned groups were aligning, and all the red flags went up at that point," he said. "When you have armed militia collaborating with white supremacy groups, collaborating with conspiracy theory groups online, all for the common goal, you start seeing what we call in terrorism a blended ideology, and that's a very, very bad sign."

    And...

[Jason Van Tatenhove, former spokesman for the Oath Keepers] said the group's president, Stewart Rhodes, asked him to "create a deck of cards" identifying people the group should target, including "different politicians, judges, [and]Hillary Clinton as the Queen of Hearts."

    And...

A new affidavit filed Tuesday by the FBI described preparations by the right-wing Proud Boys to storm the Capitol, including using earpieces and walkie-talkies to direct movements throughout the building and a discussion about wearing black to dupe people into blaming antifa for any trouble.

    And...

FBI investigators did find that cells of protesters, including followers of the far-right Oath Keepers and Proud Boys groups, had aimed to break into the Capitol. But they found no evidence that the groups had serious plans about what to do if they made it inside, the sources said.

No serious plans about what to do if they made it inside? Could that be because they were expecting Trump be present and to tell them what to do next? NOTE: The leader of Oath Keepers and Oath Keepers Member were found guilty of seditious conspiracy and other charges related to U.S. Capitol breach.

And we can't forget Trump's Dec 19 tweet which spread quickly - "Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 election. Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!" You think anyone would've shown up had Trump not tweeted that?

And then there are the communications & interaction between right-wing extremist groups & Trump's orbit prior to J6.

    --------------------------
The panel pointed to one-time Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn being photographed with members of the Oath Keepers outside the Capitol six days before he was in an Oval Office meeting about overturning the election.

The committee also revealed an encrypted chat called F.O.S. (Friends of Roger Stone), a Trump associate, that included leaders of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers as well as the organizer of Trump's Jan. 6 rally.

A Twitter employee who testified anonymously said that in the aftermath of Trump's tweet, "It felt as if a mob was being organized, and they were gathering together their weaponry, their logic and their reasoning behind why they were prepared to fight."
    ------------------------

The question then remains, to what degree was Trump aware of these communications between right-wing groups and Trump's orbit? Does it make more sense that Trump was unaware or that he was aware of them?

    ------------------------
The committee shared evidence that Trump planned to tell his supporters to march on the Capitol, but instead kept it under wraps until the day of his speech.

The committee shared a draft tweet that wasn't sent, urging attendees to arrive early and march to the Capitol afterwards. The committee also shared a Jan. 4 text message from rally organizer Kylie Kremer, in which she told election conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell that Trump would "call for [the march] unexpectedly" but they didn't want word to get out in advance to avoid a countermarch.

The panel noted that despite the intention to keep the march plan largely quiet, people connected to far-right groups did have advance knowledge of it.

"Ellipse then US Capitol. Trump is supposed to order us to Capitol at the end of his speech but we will see," read a text displayed by the committee from "Stop the Steal" founder Ali Alexander, whom Rep. Stephanie Murphy called an "activist known for his violent political rhetoric."
    -------------------------

And then Trump holds a rally on the very day of the riot - Jan 6 - and the rest is history.

    Further reading
    https://www.npr.org/2022/07/12/1111132464/jan-6-hearing-recap-oath-keepers-proud-boys

Trump was urged by numerous people (including Ivanka) to put an end to the violence, but he kept stalling.

Trump didn't want to stop Capitol attack, former White House aide testifies
    https://www.npr.org/2022/06/28/1108...itol-attack-former-white-house-aide-testifies

The issue is not whether he wanted violence or not. The issue is that he wanted the election certification to be overturned, and the only way he was going to accomplish that was through force - which was the ultimate goal of his mob.

You don't know? It's simple. MAGA = die-hard Trump supporters (essentially, his cult followers).

How does this contradict what I said? It's pretty clear what they want. Abortion = murder = subject to capital punishment.

But that's not what *I* was talking about. I was talking about lawmakers who are die-hard Trump supporters & absolutely want him re-elected.

I believe you're right in terms of today's political environment, but prior to Trump the two parties seemed more tolerant of one another & less at each other's throats. The GOP seemed more professional & amenable to reason before Trump.

Today, we also have more progressive influence permeating the Democratic party which, along with the GOP's MAGA mentality, will cause even more division and intolerance between the two parties.

I would predict it would be the end of the GOP, while the Dems split into two new parties - the traditional Dems & the Progressives.

I already answered that question - only to add: 'right-wing' means they will vote Republican. As for any other links, I'm sure you can find some if you dig deep enough. Perhaps look for possible links between GOP donor & right-wing hate group funding sources. 'Follow the money' as they say.

Oh okay. I did indeed say "(7) Their cult-like mentality & dependency on authoritarian figures." I wasn't referring to anyone specific in that sense, but merely pointing out a characteristic trait.

But let's move on, shall we?

As I would hope any reasonable person would do.

Some definitions I found of "grifter":

    * someone who gets money dishonestly by tricking people.
    * a con artist: someone who swindles people out of money through fraud.
    * a grifter might be a pickpocket, a crooked gambler, scammer, or a confidence man.
    * Grifters are often described as small-time lawbreakers who have a knack for swindling, tricking, and deceiving others, also known as "grifting." Instead of stealing or taking something by force, grifters try to take others' money or possessions the easy way—by convincing their victims to willingly hand it over.

Fran Lebowitz, a popular New York author, speaker & humorist stated to Bill Mahar on his show that New Yorkers viewed Trump as a "two-bit hustler" (her words), and so they didn't take Trump seriously before or when he was campaigning. Hence it was a shock to New Yorkers (who knew Trump well) that someone like him could win the presidency. The rest of the nation seems to have viewed Trump as a reasonable celebrity, not really knowing his background & history like New Yorkers.

    From wiki:
Lebowitz identifies as a liberal Democrat and is often critical of moderate Democratic politicians and policy. She has been a vociferous critic of the Republican Party for many years and more recently of former president Donald Trump. She has said that Trump's appeal to his voters is "racism, pure and simple," and described Trump campaign rallies as reminiscent of those held by the Ku Klux Klan and George Wallace. She has called Trump "a cheap hustler," "stupid," "lazy," and "a little crazy, but mostly he's dumb." Of Trump's election in 2016, she said, "It was horrible. I felt that strongly affected emotionally for at least a month. My level of rage, always high, is now in fever pitch all the time." She joked, "If there's one upside to all this [Trump's election], it's that it's gotten Trump out of New York."

This describes Trump as a grifter quite well - in fact his family is family of grifters. Trump & family used the presidential office as a staging area to enrich themselves. Becoming president merely enhanced their opportunities as grifters, enriching their pockets with millions more than they would've otherwise made. This, by the way, was a violation of the Emoluments Clause.

The following are two links of earlier posts on different threads where I expose some of Trump & his family's grift. Trump deceives his base by persistently denouncing China, yet he and his family were making millions from China. I show this plus other Trump crime family grifts.

I'm speaking of the actual evacuation process once the military planners were given the order for evacuation. The rapid collapse of the Afghan govt & military, the rapid take-over of Kabul by the Taliban, the ensuing chaos, the time to process civilian evacuees, and the nonchalant attitude of embassy personnel to prepare for evacuation was not predicted nor taken into consideration by the military planners. So this was the fault of military planners, not Biden.

According to Gen. Milley's testimony, Biden didn't want to leave a contingent of soldiers - probably because he wanted to remove any remaining US presence in the country. The goal was to evacuate everyone in a timely & safe manner and to not leave anyone behind.

I believe it was a good decision by Biden, because had soldiers remained, they may not be alive today. 13 soldiers had already died during the evacuation.

In my view, the mistake the planners made was in not securing the region with more soldiers/battalions and adding air protection. Had they done this they would've had all the time they needed (even months) to both process & evacuate everyone, including the billions of dollars of equipment they left behind. Instead, it would only be 17 days before they had to end the operation. I didn't hear about Biden giving the planners a limit to how many reinforcements they could send in to conduct the operation, only that no contingents would be left behind. Thus I place the blame on the military planners.

Note: We're speaking of the GOP's plan to conduct a repeat of this particular investigation - not of military investigations in general.

    (1) A repeat of this investigation would be a waste of taxpayer money that could be spent on more pressing issues.
    (2) The nature of this particular investigation would've (if repeated) served as nothing but a political show for the GOP as a means to build & cement its base. Recall I said the GOP has only two goals - re-election & self enrichment. For the same reasons, they pursued Hunter. If they truly wanted to purge corruption they would've voted to oust Trump.

With that said, the J6 inquiry conducted by the House was important & fully warranted.

    LOL @ "charade"

Well, too bad. Cry me a river. They had their chance to put more GOP members on the committee, and later regretted not doing so.

Because not participating would mean not having the chance to present material/questioning in defense of one's precious 'J6 patriots' - not that it would've made much difference anyway.

Is "most motivated" a euphamism for craziest? I have no idea what the cops were thinking. In terms of size & weight he wasn't really imposing. But it's not everyday you see a half-naked guy in fur, horns & face paint (and a backpack) walking into the Capitol building - plus he was carrying a flag that had a sharp spearhead which could've been used as a weapon. What would the cops think - imposing & crazy perhaps?

Depends on what he decided to do then. Would he talk to the lawmaker or apprehend/attack them?

I was just speculating. I have no idea what the cops were thinking/feeling. This is probably the first time they've experienced something like this, as the Capitol tends to be a relatively quiet & safe (even boring) place to work.

Like I said, size & weight-wise he's not imposing, but his appearance/attire (and the very fact he was among the rioters) indicated he may not be someone that will be easy to remove from the building using just talk - particularly as he entered the building with 2000 others.

Yes, I already know all this.

Recall I mentioned that CNN aired the story about Sicknick dying from injuries? I'd be the first one to tell you not to trust mainstream news outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, BBC, etc., not just Fox, OAN & Newsmax. Like I said earlier, I'm not a big news watcher. All stations lie about different issues, depending on which serves their predominant party affiliation. Did you notice Lou Dobbs being listed on the CNN Wiki site - the same guy who used to work for CNN, then went to work for Fox News spreading election fraud lies, and then had to quit when Smartmatic sued Fox? Bernie supporters even protested CNN's coverage of the 2016 election owing to the lack of airtime given to Bernie.

I first discovered to what extent the news media lies when I looked into the truth about 9/11 (yes, it was an inside job). EVERY major news outlet lied about what happened, who was responsible, etc. Then they all lied about the subsequent Gulf War, and so on. After that I knew not to trust anything they said. And now both sides are lying about the fake covid pandemic & vaccines.

It seems the two sides (CNN, et al. VS Fox, et al.) go through cycles of lying more and lying less. Today we can see that Fox news is lying LESS about the covid pandemic, while CNN is lying MORE about it. But Fox news is lying MORE about the 2020 election, Biden, Trump, Mueller, J6, etc. while CNN is lying LESS about the same things. It's really quite funny, and depends on the politics & events du jour.

However, I said Fox is notorious for lying because they seem to have ramped up their lying, deceit, propaganda, and drivel to a level never before seen once Trump came to power. They go so far as altering images of faces, taking images/videos out of context, manipulating videos, pushing baseless conspiracy stories, airing patriotic/flag-waving shows, airing musicians who play patriotic songs, getting preachy with Christianity, airing commentators who do nothing but insult the Left & go on rants talking about how the Left is trying to destroy America, and so forth. It's like Fox has turned into a televangelist variety show - nothing more than entertainment for rednecks, filled with right-wing hate & patriotic bleeding heart drivel.

If I had to choose between the two major sides, I'd choose to watch the Left-leaning media which I feel is a small measure better in terms of factual data, and to a greater measure more reasonable.

But right now we're focusing on Fox & Tucker, because that's what the discussion in this thread has been about.

ALL? No. It's not necessary to do so anyway. Republicans make themselves look bad all on their own.

You say "regardless of the motivation", but motivation matters to Tucker. He presents his stories in a manner accusing the Right of deliberate deception.

And of course all major stories will be widely reported. We live in the age of instant information, social media, smart phones, and the internet.

How do you know what Trump knows?

I'm not seeing Trump's name in any of that.

So what if that is the reason that people showed up? How do this mean that Trump wanted violence?

Discussing violence? Even if they were discussing violence, you would have to prove that Trump approved of Fylnn's actions.

    Transcript?

Yeah, let's take something that a TWITTER employee said seriously! :roflol:

    VIOLENT communications?

Yeah, to stop antifa thugs showing up probably. Either way, a TOTALLY irrelevant point!

Another totally irrelevant point, which ends with something that support my above claim: "they didn't want word to get out in advance to avoid a countermarch."

Yet another totally irrelevant point. Boy the Jan 6 Committee was really clutching at straws! :roflol:

Oh, rallies are illegal now? Interesting.

I agree, but this does not refute what I said that you are replying to: "In the end he did tell them to go home." That cannot be refuted because it is a fact.

Incorrect. You are obviously unaware of the belief that Pence would have been able to work some 'magic' to overturn the election. How the hell would "FORCE" have achieved it? What were those worthless piles of human waste gonna do?

42 is young but not unheard of. I feel like I have already said that. Maybe I called him 45. Same difference.

If a person dies of a stroke or a heart attack, they have a condition. I am not sure why you are saying you need to get a workup to see if they had a condition. They did.

Just as with a heart attack, a stroke risk increases within an hour of exertion, but after that time period they do not attribute to external causes, which is precisely why the medical examiner titled Sicknick's death as natural causes. The same principle applies to heart attacks. Sicknick did not have any signs of physical violence having taken place. None whatsoever, so what you are referring to is stress. They most certainly do not consider stress 24 hours prior as a cause of death. For you to call this an "insane coincidence" is beyond the pale. People die of strokes. Unfortunately, that is a fact of life.

Unlike a heart attack, I have never heard anyone attribute a stroke to physical exertion or stress, until of course politics got involved, and now all of a sudden a correlation magically appears out of thin air, despite what the actual medical examiner said on the subject.

Oh BS. After the bogus and clearly disproven "beaten with a fire extinguisher" narrative, they went through every piece of video involving him and found absolutely nothing. Not one thing that could even remotely be construed as a physical beating. If there was footage of him even wrestling with rioters it is safe to say we would have seen every second of it. The best they could muster is to say he was semi close to the release of some tear gas and then backing away. To act like he went through some herculean battle is playing fast and loose with the facts.

Did the disproven fire extinguisher narrative give you and other leftist pause as far as believing the hype? Of course not, you simply switched your narrative as to how he died. Instead of having his head beat in with a fire extinguisher, now he went through a herculean battle that "made" him die of natural causes the next day. That irrational shift of gears is downright comical. If there were 5 other officers killed that day, the left would not be trying to claim Sicknick, but because there were none, they needed at least one, and by golly, he is as close as they could come.

LOL....yeah I was just pondering that you can rest assured if he had the vaccine the day before, these same people would not be calling that an "insane coincidence". That would simply be a baseless anecdote. All of a sudden coincidences have no bearing.

Unless Sicknick had a desk job, the very nature of his job involved potential stressful situations. Any stressful event may have contributed to his stroke. For the left to zero in on what happened on 1/6 as the cause of his death is just bs. They desperately need to have someone in the LE side of 1/6 dying as a result of it in order to bolster their narrative that it was a violent insurrection. The only one that died as a result of it was Babbit and that was really an unnecessary death.

It's a very amusing show, but he would be more effective if in addition to telling the truth he always told nothing but the truth.
That would be a serious challenge for TC. He simply can't resist sticking the shiv further into his always enraged critics. ;-)

What? I wouldn't expect him to kiss his mother unless she paid him. Some people are.like that, no morals involved if there's money at hand.

You, I and most people.would say he has plenty of money. I doubt that he would.agree. That's just the way some people.are, they measure their wealth against other people's money wealth. For me it seeing the joy that I put in a child's smile. Different strokes.

    Because of his actions.

This portion of the evidence is part of what was presented to show which people & groups were interacting. There's much more if this type of evidence if you wish to review it.

You're deflecting from what I just said, which is that Trump called on his MAGA followers in December to show up on Jan 6.

Not the issue. The point is to prove connections between Flynn & right-wing extremist/militia groups.

Flynn was Trump's National Security Advisor. Flynn wanted martial law to confiscate voting machines. Flynn had contacts with the Oath Keepers. Flynn plead guilty to lying about Russian contacts. Trump then pardoned Flynn.

    What do you think?

Again, this was presented to show which people & groups were communicating with one another.

The person in question was a former employee of Twitter’s moderation team. She saw red flags all over the place. See more of her questioning & testimony here:

Video of questioning & testimony at the hearing.

And at a later hearing the former twitter employee agreed to reveal her name & identity and go on camera.

You don't think Trump was aware of the violence planned by some of his followers/planners & right-wing extremist/militia groups?

This was merely to present further evidence that Trump instigated the march to the Capitol.

Again, this was partly to present further evidence that Trump instigated the march to the Capitol, and partly to show coordination between different parties - eg, rally organizer Kylie Kremer, Mike Lindell, Trump, etc.

It's a less important bit of information, but it also serves to set the stage of actors who were involved, and could potentially be pursued for questioning at a future time.

One could say that about Tucker Carlson's presentation & the GOP's desperation to find something to investigate or impeach Biden on.

It's important to establish the extent of involvement of right-wing extremist groups with the J6 fiasco.

Didn't imply the rally was illegal. Where the hell did you get that??!! Was merely giving a timeline, ending with Trump's rally on J6 just before the riot.

But since you brought it up, I was curious if any of Trump's supporters (not the rioters) out there have ever asked themselves, what the hell is a lame duck president doing wasting taxpayer money to hold a rally before he leaves office? - LOL Of course we know why.

Of course he would - once he realized it was a lost cause. LOL Plus, he told them to 'go home' but continued to push the 'stolen election' lie.

Recall in Sep 2020 when Trump said - “Proud Boys, stand back and stand by. But I’ll tell you what, I’ll tell you what, somebody’s got to do something about antifa and the left because this is not a right-wing problem.”

    Note the words "Stand by."

Of course I'm aware of Trump's hopes in Pence. He talked about it at his J6 rally. But it was clear from his speech that Trump had his doubts about Pence coming through for him.

Trump wanted his MAGA mob to be present en masse to encourage Pence to do his 'magic' because he wasn't certain Pence would comply. And you don't think Trump knew his MAGA mob included elements of right-wing militias & extremist groups who were ready to do battle? You don't think Trump wanted his armed militant minnions at the Capitol to make sure Pence 'did the right thing' - or else?

You seem to be under the delusion that a person like Trump only wants to do things the legal or constitutional way? Trump knew very well that following the letter of the law & the Constitution will not put him back into the president's seat - but only force.

The issue is not whether force would be sufficient to successfully overturn the election, but that Trump, his allies & followers believed it was somehow possible to achieve with force. Keep in mind, these people live in a make-believe world and feed off of one another's delusions. They obviously didn't know how the political system worked, but that didn't stop them.

Trump said - “Had [Pence] sent the votes back to the legislatures, they wouldn’t have had a problem with Jan. 6, so in many ways you can blame him for Jan. 6. Had he sent them back to Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, the states, I believe, number one, you would have had a different outcome. But I also believe you wouldn’t have had ‘Jan. 6’ as we call it.”

Aside from the fact that Trump was blaming Pence for the J6 violence, he falsely believed Pence had the power to nullify Biden's victory by rejecting the electoral votes in those 3 states. Pence never had the Constitutional authority to do what Trump wanted. However, had Pence tried to do it, the question then becomes, 'who would overrule Pence?' In other words, could Pence's decision actually stick?

You may also want to ask Michael Flynn how exactly they were going to 'force' a successful reversal of the election. Recall Flynn was Trump's former National Security Advisor, the guy who wanted to impose martial law and confiscate voting machines, and who interacted intimately with right-wing extremist groups. You don't think Flynn & Trump were in contact prior to J6?

Is it such a stretch to believe that Trump & his minions actually believed they could overthrow the govt itself - that if Trump could somehow be re-instated as president he would take control of the military and assume a position of permanent leadership?

I had thought the same thing because the first covid clot shots were rolled out in Dec 2020, and I suspect Capitol police (being govt workers) would be mandated to have the shots (unfortunately). If I were a betting man, I'd bet he died from a stroke due to the effects of the covid shot exacerbated by a reaction to the adrenaline surge during his J6 altercations.

The mRNA technology COVID gene injections are causing scarring of the myocardium & thus myocarditis & the sudden surge of catecholamines (adrenaline) on the scarred heart causes cardiac arrest during exercise or sudden activity the surge in adrenaline can be causing a catastrophic surge in adrenaline which strains the heart due to vaccine-induced myocarditis.
Dr. Peter McCollough: The C19 Shots Sets Up Heart Inflammation and Adrenaline Triggers Injury and Death "The vaccines set up the heart inflammation ... and then it's the big surge of adrenaline ... during a basketball game — during sports, that's triggering these deaths."
    https://palexander.substack.com/p/t...id=106047802&isFreemail=true&utm_medium=email

So for all you vax recipients - although millions have been injured or died without physical exertion from the clot shots, it's probably best to stay cool & calm! (seriously)

If the cops thought that he may not be someone that will be easy to remove from the building using just talk, that is all the more reason why isolating him might have been a good idea.

Interesting. What did/does Fox lie about on the pandemic?

Interesting. What 2020 election lies from CNN?

Just like FAR LEFTIST commentators on MSNBC like Joy Reid and Tifanny Cross talk about how the right is trying to destroy America. CNN frequently airs guests of the same ilk. Then there is CNN's Mr. Lemon, although he looks like a far right nazi compared to Reid and Cross.

Of course you would. You're on the left, just like them.

This does not change my point, which is that this false story was widely reported as was the
'deadly insurrection' narrative that it helped to fuel. And so Tucker was simply using his large platform to set the record straight.

In a patient that lives, the medical workup is to determine the cause & nature of the acute episode (whatever it may be). There are conditions that can mimic heart attacks & strokes. Also, not all heart attacks are caused by arterial blockage.

If the person dies, then an autopsy needs to be performed to determine the cause. Just because a person dies from a stroke or heart attack doesn't mean it's always by 'natural causes'.

At the beginning it was apparent Sicknick died from a stroke. But it would be 14 weeks later until an autopsy confirmed it was both a stroke & due to 'natural causes.'

I didn't call it an "insane coincidence." I believe chris155au said that. I called it "too coincidental."

As far as "stress" goes, what Sicknick experienced is not like exercising. Exercise doesn't cause emotional trauma that can last. Sicknick's experience involved fear & shock as he clashed with the mob. I don't know what Sicknick's mental & emotional sensitivities were, so I can't say to what extent the J6 experience affected him psychologically.

What we're not told by the medical examiner is whether Sicknick's stroke was due to a blood clot or something indeterminable. It might be helpful to know this.

In most cases, a stroke is caused by a blood clot that blocks blood flow to the brain. But in some instances, despite testing, the cause can't be determined. Strokes without a known cause are called cryptogenic.
    https://www.stroke.org/en/about-stroke/types-of-stroke/cryptogenic-stroke

Sicknick not only suffered two strokes, but Francisco J. Diaz, the medical examiner, did add that “all that transpired played a role in his condition.”
