That's why I said if you want to frame it that way.
Trump is being investigated for hush money.
    Not for sex

Door #1. If one believes the law is king, he should be indicted if the facts and applicable law warrant it.

Door #2. If one believes Trump is king, then one has betrayed American values.

    I'm going with Door #1.

Trump lawyers have clearly advised Trump to surrender so as to avoid handcuffs and a perp walk. Whether or not Trump will take their advice, is anyone's guess.

I doubt the Manhattan DA will indict on Tuesday given Trump's TS tweet and expected protests. Probably Wednesday or Thursday.

Frankly, regarding my opinion of #1, I have to say that I'm against an indictment for hush money charges, it will be perceived as a chickenshit charge. My view is that the ONLY time I would consider the politics of an indictment for a US President if the charge lacks gravity, and that one does. I want to see 1/6 indictments, GA state (or any state) or Jack Smith's Federal 1/6 and/or documents cases, or a NY State indictment extending from the Trump Org convictions. Those are far more weighty indictments and on those, politics be damned, #1 applies in toto. If the hush money indictment is followed immediately or soon by the state and federal indictments, I suppose I can live with it.

This is NOT a court of law. And besides that, six (or seven... I lost count) opportunities to answer a simple direct question, and you avoiding it PROVE that this is NOT your argument. Your REAL argument is "don't touch the Orange Idol". You can just admit it now. We all know that's the case anyway.

    @Golem
    I'm going with door #4
They get Trump and a NEW PRECEDENT is set. One that the left won't be able to evade forever as this will cause even more scrutiny of the corrupt DOJ. Careful what you wish for! I hope he goes down hard because i want ALL OF THEM TO.
Thanks LEFT. I guess you guys know that if one former pres is held accountable then NONE of them are exempt.
I'm gonna enjoy watching this blow up in their face. They are also helping DeSantis so i'd love to thank the good ole left for that gift as well!

Why don't we just frame it as it actually is?

It’s not up to the FBI to charge trump, that’s up to garland and like I said I could care less who’s over the FBI, in the end it all boils down to garland

    Why?

    The answer is quite simple:

There are no crimes on the laptop implicating Joe.

The worst on Hunter are going to be, 1, not registering as a foreign agent (or maybe not, I'm not clear on the facts), and #2, lying on a gun permit application.

I doubt the DOJ will pursue an indictment on the son of a US president for charges that are not perceived as weighty enough.

As for the Manhattan DA indictment for Trump hush money charges, I feel the same way, but Bragg might not be aligned with the DOJ's policy on indicting US Presidents and their siblings. The charge isn't weighty enough for a US President. But, in Bragg's case, if he does indict for the hush money charges, I believe he will do it because his perception is that to NOT indict would be for political reasons (the accusations by Democrats) and he wants to thwart that perception. So, with Bragg, it could be political, but for opposite reasons that Republicans will accuse him of.

However, on indictments 1/6 and document charges, as long as the predominant charge on documents is obstruction, if the facts and applicable law are there, in spades, I'm all for it. And they should include any other obstruction charges that Trump has committed (per vol II of the Mueller Report)

As for being 'politically motivated'. I reject any attempt to impugn the integrity of the Manhattan DA, or the US DOJ by Republicans given the fact they didn't give a diddly squat damn when Bill Barr clearly used the DOJ as Trump's private weapon against his detractors, not to mention US Attorney Preet Bharara was fired because he was being asked to do political things on Trump's behalf and refused. (substantiation provided on request)

The point is, if you are a Republican, and you didn't condemn Trump and Barr for their weaponization of the DOJ, I don't want to hear any talk of 'indictments against Trump are political', because, well, you don't want to be a flaming hypocrite, do you?

    Well, do you?

    Glad to hear it.

This is far more politically motivated than Bill Clinton’s… far far more…

Clinton most definitely used his power to entice a young lady. He abused his office and if #MeToo were around they would have been all over that. But he never was prosecuted. Not once. Wasn’t even investigated by the DA ever.

I thought you were all for equal prosecutions under law. Would any other person be charged with those crimes? And lying on a gun background check is a big deal, that’s not small at all. And the emails did show he lined up business meetings with his dad while he was VP. Maybe you missed that

He did lose his license to practice law as a result of the perjury. Not that he ever intended to go into the field anyways. He had other plans to become one of the rich elites, the Democrats despise.

Also Fani Willis and Alan Bragg, Fulton DA and Manhattan DA respectively.

Garland doesn't control Fulton DA or Manhattan DA, they are state prosecutors for their respective districts. .

It’s the same news. That’s how long this has been investigated and supposedly still is. These allegations are real. Twitter files prove that the FBI tried to hide these facts during the election and it will in the end be proven true. The elites are trying to stop the non political elite from exposing them. These emails are not done by a long shot from being investigated

Going on vacation at Epstein Island was a lot more fun than practicing law anyway. Besides, he and Hillary had the Clinton Foundation to make them rich. Why work for a living?

You fell for that Twitter files bull ****? All it showed was that the FBI warned Twitter that there could be some misinformation. That's it. Even the guy who turned over the laptop said he was seeing misinformation about it. You shouldn't hold your breath for that garbage.

That’s a smoke screen. Are you telling me that states have jurisdiction over federal crimes? Since when did states have jurisdiction over federal election funds?
