what a stupid comparison. we know that its your stock in trade-to pretend that banning guns will save children and those who don't want to ban guns want children to die. That's a bullshit argument and we both know it. When you make comments like this it proves that crime control has nothing to do with your intended schemes Maybe if you thought things through a bit more-you might realize that constantly insulting lawful gun owners belies your facade that public safety is your motivation. But you constantly insult gun owners and that only proves why you want to ban guns

That's easy. Here you can see a comparison between what a bullet fired by an AR-15 will do to a child's body, compared to a regular bullet. The first one basically SHATTERS a child's body. Absolutely not survivable. A single regular bullet is most often survivable. So at least SOME children will likely make it out alive.

The first sentence is without substance. You did not explain why my arguments were "ludicrous." You just said it, and we are supposed to believe you. Trump Republicans do that a lot because they are not able to explain their baseless accusations.

Then you lied. No where did I say that guns were responsible. In fact, your statement is quite ludicrous. Banning assault weapons that were designed to kill people as quickly as possible does not mean the gun is to "blame." Is there any reason why we allow the shooters to have the most efficient rifle to commit his murders?

You won't answer that question, and neither will the NRA-sponsored Republican Party. Instead, they say it is time for prayer and that's it. They will do nothing about the mass murders.

It sounds like instead of offering real solutions that might help others from becoming victims of mass shooters, your only solution is to disparage law-abiding gun owners. If that's all you offer, why bother?

omg what silliness and AR 15 bullet compared to a REGULAR BULLET: WTF DOES THAT MEAN

you will define regular bullet to be something with less energy and describe at least 50 different calibers that do more damage as NON REGULAR BULLETS

give it up-posts like this prove your arguments are bankrupt

I have no plans for stopping anything. What I submitted is a plan to save lives. Remember: I DON'T reason in binary, like most right-wingers do.

And if you're referring to the post you quoted, that's the plan of the poster I responded to. Not mine.

If it's anything else, remember forum rules. If you have a case to make YOU make it. Links are intended to illustrate a point. Not to make the point for you. So I don't follow links to external sites when the poster hasn't made a point.

Most, the majority of mass shootings/killings do not take place in schools. How about you address facts, and stop dancing on the graves of children?

You are claiming I lie when we get the crap from Golem claiming .223 bullets do far more DAMAGE than REGULAR BULLETS. You LIE when you claim that "assault weapons are designed to kill people as quickly as possible" so your posts is oozing hypocrisy. PROVE that was the purpose of AR 15s. FIND ONE ADVERTISEMENT where that claim is made

the intellectual bankruptcy and mendacity of the anti gun arguments are here for everyone to see. WHY ARE POLICE ISSUED these weapons-are they tasked with KILLING AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE?

nothing you have proposed is designed to save lives-except perhaps the lives of violent criminals. Your posts which constantly insult lawful gun owners proves what your real motivations are

Well.... that's what the article is for. To explain to you things you don't know.

You asked, I answered. And the evidence to support my answer is there. If you are not interested let me know and I'll know not to bother responding to your questions anymore, because you're not actually interested in facts. But even if I don't answer, you now know that my sig is your guideline.

I knew that you have no plans to stop anything. If your plan is to really save lives, how come you write crap that disparages law-abiding gun owners. IF you have a real plan, why not go after the groups that are causing the mass killings? How dare you pretend that law abiding gun owners don't care about the lives of children. And you call them binary thinkers. What a joke.

Another common tactic by Republicans is to create the arguments used by the opposition, then criticize the opposition based on what they imagined.

Everything you said was a lie. No one wants to ban guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Indeed, most Democrats are gun owners. They use the guns for hunting. Some for protection.

No one is saying that Republicans want children to die, but that is the effect of their refusal to do anything about mass murders, children and adults alike.

Ding, ding, ding! Folks, we have a winner.

It's not hard to read between the lines. They offer no plans, except insult and sowing division.

Their plan is to go after the lawful, peaceful, gun owners, and make YOUR guns a political wedge issue as we head toward '24.

Here's their argument. They're good, caring and moral, you're not good, caring and moral because you don't care about the lives of children. That about sums their "plan" up. In reality, they want your guns and offer NO solutions to go after criminals with guns who are actually causing all the crimes, the MAJORITY OF THE MASS SHOOTINGS, committed mostly in their precious blue cities. Source: Mass shooting database (mass-shootings.info) We won't hear the liberal media report on the above though, will we? It's all by political design too.

I don't disparage law-abiding gun owners. I disparage those who feel that guns are more important than saving lives. Only a very small minority of gun owners believe that. Unfortunately, too many of them are in this forum. And too many of them are in Congress. So they APPEAR to be many. But, in reality, they aren't.

So please don't try to hide behind the skirt of the majority of law-abiding gun owners

WTF? So your point is that it's not JUST the life of school children but the life of ANYBODY you couldn't care less about?

It would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic....

there IS NOTHING you can come up with concerning firearms that I do not know. The bullets mainly shot out of an AR 15 are 55 grain FMJ bullets They DO LESS DAMAGE than hollow point varmint rounds and far less damage than the most popular deer cartridges in the country including

    .243
    270
    30-06
    308 etc

you are dishonestly comparing Rifle cartridges to pistol rounds

see there is that bullshit dichotomy again. Most gun owners don't believe giving up their guns will save lives. Most of them believe that people like you are all about political weaponization of gun laws, not saving lives

I don't worry about the lives of criminals. I want them to face honest folk that are at least as well armed as they are. You want criminals to prevail in lethal confrontations with honest people, I know this is true and I know that your proposed gun laws are designed to do that. And I know that people like you see pro gun voters as your enemy, not violent felons

gun banner speak-we don't want to ban all guns, thus we are not gun banners. MOST DEMOCRATS ARE GUN OWNERS? LOL 16% of democrats claim to own a legal gun

Yeah, keep making my point above. Keep beating that horse that it's THEM that refuses to do anything.

    :deadhorse:

Clearly, you are wrong. It's not the right that is refusing to do anything about mass murders and the uptick of killings across America. Au contraire. The gun owner shouldn't have to compromise their lifestyle by giving up their lawfully owned property without due cause.

The hands of those who truly do care about the uptick of mass shootings are pretty much tied by leftist bureaucrats, progressive prosecutors who were, and are in the sweet spot of Democratic politics, many who aligned with BLM type grievances. The leftist prosecutors who promised change for their behalf racked up wins, and mass shootings SPIKED. Now a lot of these prosecutors are being questioned, some even suggesting they be recalled for failing to protect their community from criminals.

Fast forward. Look who is really causing most of the mass shootings, young male blacks. Tell us again who is at fault here. How could you sit there and blame Republicans????

Look to your damn leftist legislators with a "progressive" soft on crime agenda, those who promised to end cash bail, or found ways to roll back tough on crime policies. Politicians who run on the Democratic ticket don't want to recognize rising crime, mass shootings in their communities but you go ahead and keep pretending it's the Republicans who "refuse to do anything". Meanwhile, my argument is well sourced: Read and Learn who is really behind the uptick of rising crime and mass shootings. The Liberals Who Won’t Acknowledge the Crime Problem - The Atlantic

Well, you SAID you didn't know that AR-15s cause more damage than the other guns mentioned in the article. So there's that.

Now, if you mean you already knew that, then why the f... hell did you ask?

I will keep that in mind next time you ask anything so as to make sure I don't waste my time taking your question seriously.

I don't know for sure, but it's unlikely those killed in Tennessee were criminals. Except the shooter, of course. I think I can safely say the 9 year-olds surely weren't. So they definitely should have exceeded your bar for "not worrying". And yet...you STILL don't seem to worry too much about them either.

At least not to the point where you would cause (let me quote you so I don't get it wrong) "unhappiness on people who lawfully own firearms"

Well- you refuse to pay attention to anything you don't agree with. Nothing new about you not understanding the messages.

You can't make weapons unavailable to those with criminal intent, as they will steal, smuggle or make them. You can make weapons unavailable to the law abiding people the criminals will prey on.
How smart is that? Disarm the prey, ignore the predator.

Little we do is perfect, no question about that. But at least we should be able to focus on actual causes and actual things we can control or do that which would actually improve the situation.

Obviously we have a lot of people unwilling to address the mentally unstable people- and granted, it would be really hard to do properly and would still be only partially successful.
But whatever we do should be addressed directly toward the causative factors. Are you willing to give up your car because cars can be used to kill people? People won't do that; they will rationalize the desire or need for owning cars compared to owning guns. The car is a convenience you use everyday. The gun may save your life when and if the right situation occurs, which for most people- will not, unless the current policy of prosecutors to not prosecute crime get worse, and I'm quite sure it will. The odds you will need the gun are increasing; and concealed carry is way up because the threat is way up.

But there are options to your car- walk, bike, bus.... The only option for saving your life is clairvoyant response from the police, and current politics don't favor the idea that anyone but you will be there in time to save your life.

    These questions define the subject:

Can we stop criminals from getting guns?
Can we stop them from using guns?
Can we keep them from having violent motives?
Can we take them off the street?
Can we establish a system of consequence that will substantially reduce the level of violence?

My answers- NO; NO; NO; YES- and YES.

If you think you have better ideas- let's hear them.

more nonsense.I know more about ballistics than you can ever learn since I have shot animals that run from less than a pound to over half a ton. And I have dressed them out and I know full well that the AR 15 round is TOO WEAK to be legal for DEER HUNTING in many states. You post dishonest comparisons between a weaker rifle cartridge vs pistol cartridges and ignore shotguns and other rifles. Your definition of "regular bullets" is a joke

that is his intent-to disarm honest people for political reasons while pretending he is impeding criminals. Criminals don't vote against the political agenda he wants. Criminals don't muster voting blocs to elect republicans
