Likely a regular consumer of right-wing media where they basically tell the rubes that there are scary black dudes behind every bush waiting to jump them, and you need to be armed to the teeth...

 

All burglars knock or ring the doorbell to see if the house is empty.

 

Is this why we rarely see Jehovah Witness come by anymore. Actually now that I think about it even if Jehovah Witness no longer come by we still get a ton of people trying to sell services like cleaning windows, painting, power washing etc... I wonder if incidents like this will decrease the number of people coming door to door to sell services or ask for donations etc...

 

Looking at some other sources, apparently 'words were exchanged' between the shooter and the victim before the shooting. What those words were... dunno.

KCPD held the shooter for 24 hours, but cant hold him longer without charges, and can't charge him with anything before getting a statement from the victim. Why they cant get a statement from the victim yet (he was released from the hospital, so...) is unclear.

Unless Ralph made threats or attempted to force entry into the home, I dont see the homeowner walking on this one. Its just the circumstances of the victim's (lack of) statement holding up the investigation temporarily.

Shooting a stranger at your door just cuz they knocked isn't protected by any laws in any state. Either theres more to this case than we're being provided by news stories, or the bureaucracy of LE isn't working fast enough to satisfy the emotional reaction of the locals. Or both.

In those "other modern democracies", the people don't have the right to keep and bear arms as we do in the USA. Furthermore, those other modern democracies wouldn't even exist were it not for the existence of the USA. Consequently, the USA is the benefactor of essentially all of their blessings. So stop telling us that we need to be like them. We don't. If we were, none of us would exist. And btw, murders in the USA are about 5 per hundred thousand people. There are a heap of nations far more dangerous, in the tens, twenties, thirties, forties, and fifties per hundred thousand people.

A lot of that probably depends on the length of your driveway. My driveway is right on a public road and you can see the road from my door and we get the occasional evangelist. But a bunch of my friends that live down the street in a neighborhood of private dirt roads, some of them have fairly long driveways and even with no signs posted you don't get strangers showing up out there. If someone lives way back in the woods you just assume a couple of things.... A that they are armed..... And B they probably don't like unannounced guests.

Of course regardless of your layout you can always put up a sign

They could save their self money on the investigation and just ask you cuz evidently you have it all figured out

You'd have to prove this homeowner wouldn't have shot a person in the same circumstance if they were a different race.

Remember this isn't Russia you're innocent until proven guilty and the burden of proof is on the accuser

 

The immediate response from leftists when you have a justified shooting is to claim the shooter is racist.

Remember Rittenhouse, Zimmerman. They made the same claim in both of these cases.

They are crying wolf and more and more every time they do it people roll their eyes.

 

A Conservative politician in my city, Melbourne, said that the African gang problem was so bad that people were too scared to go out for dinner! It must be a common conservative ploy.

 

For any white progressive it appears that the homeowner being white and the person having been shot is black.... That's all the evidence they need.... It's an open and shut case in their mind.

Anytime a black person is the victim of crime perpetrated by a white it means it's automatically racist to them

 

No no no it's not about white if this homeowner was black and Shadow white kid it's it was racist they would say it was white supremacy.

It's not really about the shooting it's about a person daring to defend themselves. The thing with Andrew Zimmerman the thing with Kyle writtenhouse all of that was to make you think twice about defending yourself.

It's just that racism is the programming language and this is how they get all the lemmings to fall in line I don't want to be called racist so they do what they're told.

A person should primarily only concern themselves with the opinions of those they love and respect.

Lester's bond was set at $200,000, Thompson said.

Thompson said no words were exchanged before Lester allegedly opened fire with a .32 revolver, striking Yarl twice — once in the head and once in the arm. Yarl had not entered the home when Lester allegedly shot him through a glass door, Thompson said."
