Then you won't need laws, then, will you? My soon to be 21 year old gay socialist son just asked me for help getting his CCW. Do you think he's looking to give up guns?
Biometric locks are easily disabled due to the simplicity of the internal mechanics of a firearm. A biometric lock is useful in preventing someone from taking your weapon off your person and immediately using it ...something that is almost never the cause of a shooting. A weapon that is stolen and then used in a crime later is far more commonly the issue, and biometric locks would not prevent this. Biometric locks are also known to decrease the reliability of a firearm. This I'm sure will some day be solved with innovation, but until that day, few people want to add an additional source of potential malfunction to a device they rely on for their personal safety. This is why you won't find many (if any, I know of none) police, military or professional security agencies mandating biometric locks on their weapons- they don't pass the armorers reliability standards.
when people who want to ban guns or prevent you from having a gun, tell you they support something short of a gun ban-what does that tell you?
Well, mostly they just don't know F-all about how things work. They equate technology with magic that only 'professionals' could possibly understand. They've never taken the dust cover off an AK and marvelled at its stupid simplicity. When their sink leaks, they call a plumber, not grab a wrench and risk getting dirty trying to see if they can fix it themselves. These are the folks you see on the side of the road with a flat tire, sitting in their car on the phone. The ones who get mauled by coyotes because no one trained them how to kick an aggressive dog. The ones who get angry when you suggest taking vitamin supplements because you're not a doctor so there's no possible way you could know anything valuable. Or some of them do know how things work, and they think they're such geniuses for it that certainly no one else could ever figure it out. And to be fair, its likely they run in circles where they ARE the genius for knowing how simple things work, and they think their little circle of incompetents is representative of everyone else. But, ya, there's also the folks that don't gaf that anyone with a dremel and pliers can figure out how to bypass a biometric lock if left alone in a room with one for 15 minutes, because its one more hurdle to frustrate the evil gun rights people with, so lets do it!
my 25 year old slacker dude son who is into foreign currency schemes, selling tools bought from liquidators and perfecting his forehand loop drive in table tennis, packs two sigs, a couple automatic knives and teaches his slacker friends TKD (he's a black belt) defensive shooting (he's a master class speed shooter) and knife tactics.
