The headline: At least 3 people killed and 2 officers wounded in New Mexico shooting, police say The link: New Mexico shooting: 3 dead, 2 wounded in Farmington attack (nbcnews.com) The lede: "Four people, including a suspect, were killed and two police officers wounded during a shooting in northwest New Mexico on Monday, authorities said." The comment: Another day, and guns in the news. Again. Yet again our social programs, our laws and our level of law enforcement was unable to avert these shootings and deaths. Deaths from gunshot, based upon data for 2020, occur roughly every 12 minutes in the United States of America.* Roughly 110-120 people will also die from gunshot today in the United States of America. The level of deaths by gunshot in the United States ranks high against other modern democracies. Guns in the news today. Again. Stay safe 'n well 'n un-shot. * Ref: Gun deaths in the U.S.: 10 key questions answered | Pew Research Center
You spelled criminals wrong. anyway, good thing you were able to rush this news here as usual but we don’t know anything about what went wrong. Coulda just said “oxygen thieves in the news today”.
Lock up the evil doers for life when they start showing criminal tendencies in their youth. See how soon the crime wave abates. It would be a real win-win.
I am curious what the purpose is for constantly filling up this section of the board with these "crime reports"
well we know that crime control is not what causes the constant complaining about legal gun ownership in the USA
And yet it is only a minority of people polled do NOT want background checks and other rational legislation https://www.foxnews.com/official-po...un-limits-arming-citizens-reduce-gun-violence Note this is a Fox News poll
yes, when you ask people loaded questions you get one answer-when they go to the polls you get other answers constitutional rights are not dependent on the whims of the ignorant
can anyone tell us how a 30 day waiting period is constitutional when applied to a gun purchase but not other rights? and can all those gun banners tell us what value it has for PUBLIC SAFETY when criminals don't get guns through retail sales ?
Dallas mom killed by stray bullet while on her way to pick up daughter’s prom dress during Mother’s Day weekend By Chris Boyette and Zoe Sottile, CNN Updated 9:14 AM EDT, Tue May 16, 2023 A mother in Dallas, Texas, was going to pick up a prom dress with her daughter when she was fatally shot by a stray bullet – just a day before Mother’s Day. Ana Moreno, 39, was driving with her teenage daughter when she was struck by the bullet at around 4 p.m. Saturday, the Dallas Police Department said in a statement. Individuals in two other vehicles had been shooting at each other while driving, police said. ... https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/15/us/w...t-mothers-day-weekend-dallas-texas/index.html I'm sure the (R)adicals will act promptly to protect gun sellers and make sure more people can obtain firearms more easily.
Do you imagine that fox news polls are somehow immune to bot attacks? Do you imagine that fox is not part of the mainstream media that over the last several years has been caught basically lying or manipulating the facts time and time again? Do you think any of us trust a poll on a news station? Percentages on totally trustworthy tv poll say give up my rights! Guess I'll do it! Does that work in your little penal colony?
it appears that anti gun lefties delight in hearing about tragedies such as this, so they can blame groups they see allied with the GOP or conservatives. You don't know if the person who shot the fatal bullet had the gun legally or illegally. You don't know if he or she was a democrat or a republican. the person who did this will most likely die in prison or be ancient by the time of release
I think a lot of posters have their favorite topics or new source and just like to post them. Just like some poster like to post about job layoffs and others like to post about race issues and the new one is some users like to post about transgender stories.
well the point is-gun banners sometimes claim that us pro rights advocates support mass shootings etc. Obviously a lie but further disproven by the fact that almost every thread started about an illegal shooting is posted by anti gun activists
I have given up. Everyone regardless of their stance believes mass shootings are an awful thing but just disagree on the solution. People are just trying to find simple solutions to an extremely complex problem. Also the root of the problem is our culture not the guns. Story after story validates this because our society has come to the point where a significant percent of people think violence is a solution to common problems.
