Adams unveils plan to tackle NYC shoplifting

We’ve all seen how crime in liberal cities has skyrocketed with shoplifting being one of the biggies. Below is the plan that NYC’s mayor endorses to stop shoplifting. Had I not seen this I would have not believed it. This plan won’t stop anything.

Wasn’t Adams a former cop? You would think he would know better.

 

at least make a 3 strikes and you get a mandatory 10 year sentance

if nothing happens, some will just repeat and repeat, as they have nothing to lose

would not even do that, this is a problem out of control, 1 year jail first offense

as all that says is do it until you get caught, 1st time is a freebie

 

I like the social services kiosks idea. Nothing says, "Stealing is a crime" quite like a social services kiosk.

"I could steal this beer now but wait! There's a social services kiosk and I could choose to change my life choices instead!"

 

Neighborhood retail watch programs arent the worst idea (I dont think they'll do much on their own though)... the rest is a lot of effort for nothing.

This is a plan to fail.

 

Neighbourhood retail and bar watch programs are commonly used in the UK and do have some use. Especially useful against child shop lifters who all "know their rights".. unfortunately they are never arrested but word spreads to other retailers when they are around

 

You steal where I work at and I'm calling the police and having you taken to jail.

Here in this small town they still believe in holding people accountable to the laws.

I think thieves should have to work off their debt to society. The labor should be at least 3 times as much as if they would have worked to purchase the item in the first place. If the thief was stealing bread, social programs are reasonable.

 

This is a typical liberal solution -- coddle the perp. If you are real nice to him he will never steal again. Also raise taxes.

 

Yeah, but your country doesn't have nearly as many blacks. Do that here and those retailers are raaaacists

Think more like citrus production and beef production and migrant harvesters and rednecks. And a decent size population of snowbirds and Canadians.

If Adams were not the Mayor of New York, you could take this schtick to a comedy club.

The shoplifters are going to come to Mayor Adams kiosk in the drug store before they get their free $850 worth of stolen merchandise. The social worker (the new policeman for the far left) manning the booth will great them saying "I feel your pain. How can I help you?"

The New York City response will be "Eff you, now let me get on with my "work" (shoplifting).
