And as regards to your post above.... Did you know that Lincoln only outlawed slavery in the Confederate States? They kept it legal in the north for some time. So you might want to check into history yourself.

We have people from all over the world who identify with where their ancestors lived. A lot of blacks don't know the location of their ancestral home. I can see them identifying with Africa generally in the same way most people identify with their ancestral home.

I don't see why you folks are torqued over blacks wanting to celebrate. It seems like a step in them taking their place in this country as full citizens.

 

I have zero clue what Juneteenth is or want to know. The United States think pods come up with whatever holidays they can to promote their personal agenda's. I stopped paying attention long ago. I reckon for the few who care, it means something for them. So, if they want a personal holiday, more power to them. I will continue to live life like normal as if the day never existed.

How they celebrate Juneteenth is one concern and the other is whether Juneteenth should be a national holiday. It looks like you're making a case against Juneteenth by going after how people celebrate.
