My inference is correct. List the lyrics you want censored.

    And concerns over the following?

Gladly! Here's your list right here of lyrics I want censored:

    • I'm sure there is content in movies and video games that I don't agree with. I also don't agree with the government censoring that content. Why are you pretending that this concept requires a degree in rocket science?
    • Except for in cases of self defense, yes, I have a concerns with violence against women.
    • If that were happening, then yes, I'd have a problem with that.
I've consistently been against the initiation of violence. Again, this ain't rocket science.

Red dirt roads are ubiquitously referenced both in country music generally and in tractor rap, Aldean's particular flavor.
    Georgia especially, has red dirt.
Another ubiquitous conceptual reference is a disdain for paving over roads and a preference for the proverbial red dirt.

That dirt isn't red because of blood, don't clutch your pearls so hard.

Agreed. I grew up on a red dirt road. I still remember the day it was paved. But he also filmed in front of a court house famous for lynching and sang about people not making it "down the road" if they pissed him off and about his grandfather's gun being part of that equation. Sure doesn't sound like a song about due process, agreed?

My comment was reserved for the hilariously false assumption that the dirt was red because they drug a corpse across it. That was simply too absurd not to comment on.

I admit, it is very much on the level of a gangster rap video as it respects the point you bring up. Tell me when the last time you complained about hit song "Let's Plan A Robbery" though.

Further: Was it if they pissed him off or was there a reference to a violent riot ala the summer of love?

You can say all you want how you believe the reference is. But this isn't about you. The dirt red road you speak off in not in the video. What is in the video is the court house. Hence other people are making other references.

Again: Red dirt roads are actual things actually in Georgia where the artist is from, and are ubiquitously mentioned in country music particularly in tractor rap like Aldean makes.

I know there are roads, of dirt, with the color red.
The interpretation of the song however, is a combination of the court house and the text. There aren't even dirt red roads in the clip.

Okay I must be missing something. I just watched the entire video and didn't hear a single thing about any red roads.

Is actually just telling people he recommends they keep their b******* out of a small town.

I feel him because if someone comes in the store and sticks a gun or a knife in my face at 2:00 or 3:00 am there's a pretty damn good chance one of us isn't going home.

I got a few tricks for something like that.

It appears that the song is about Georgia and Georgia is famous for its red clay dirt roads

Again: Referring to a red dirt road is a ubiquitous thing done in basically ALL of Aldean's songs, and those in a similar genre.
Its a call back term, the same way rappers or country artists will call back another artist's name.
Exactly the same with exhorting that they stay the way they are or remain unpaved.

This turn of phrase is used in practically every song of his , and the songs aren't written for the videos dude.

You don't need the visual, the language is sufficiently descriptive to someone who has actually been there and is the target demo. You, a city boy, I am not shocked don't understand the meaning of the term.
I am a bit shocked at where you went with it, but there is no accounting for taste these days.

Again I think it's just amazing the outrage over this song when people have no problem with gangster rap literally "singing" about violently trafficking drugs and indiscriminate violence and disrespect of women and law and order in general.

    That's untrue.
I always noted that people are interpretating the text differently because of the VIDEO CLIP. That court house is shown over and over while they sing about dirt red roads. There are no dirt red roads in the clip. When is this going to sink in that it's not just the text that causes it? lol

Dude: Its LITERALLY what you said. You realize what you post is still viewable right?

When is it going to sink in that the music video was not shot and then the song written? The line does not refer to roads red from blood but rather the proverbial red dirt road so often mentioned in country songs generally and tractor rap from Georgia most especially.

The part you complain of is the REFRAIN ffs. He sings it multiple times, what is pictured when he sings it at other times friend? Do you know? Did you check?
Further: Its not DIRT RED ROADS.
Its RED DIRT ROADS RED DIRT.
IE He is specifically referencing Georgia's particular "red dirt" IE soil with a high clay content.

Let's keep the red dirt roads red dirt
Keep the little white church, keep keeping God first
Keep dragging that plow, keep the blue on your collar
Keep the sweat on your dollar, keep the sins in the water
And your roots in thе ground
Keep standing tall, the hell in your naw
Herе's to all y'all keepin' small towns small

STill further: That refrain is not actually the song complained of. That refrain is from "small town". What you're bitching about is "Try that in a small town" which does not actually contain the words "red dirt".
    Odd, no?

Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk
Carjack an old lady at a red light
Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store
Ya think it's cool, well, act a fool if ya like
Cuss out a cop, spit in his face
Stomp on the flag and light it up
    Yeah, ya think you're tough
Well, try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won't take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don't
Try that in a small town
Got a gun that my granddad gave me
They say one day they're gonna round up
Well, that **** might fly in the city, good luck
Try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won't take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don't
Try that in a small town
Full of good ol' boys, raised up right
If you're looking for a fight
Try that in a small town
Try that in a small town
Try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won't take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don't
Try that in a small town
Try that in a small town
    Ooh-ooh
Try that in a small town
