https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-presidential-candidate-nikki-haley-180549399.html If you want to call it "speaking out". More like "weaseling out" "Unlike the other candidates, I didn't rush out with a statement yesterday on Trump's indictment for one simple reason — like most Americans, I'm tired of commenting on every Trump drama. I've lost track of whether this indictment is the third or fourth or the fifth," Haley said. "We should be focusing on how to stop China. We should be focusing on how to close the border. We need to be reversing Bidenomics. Putting a 77-year-old former president in prison doesn’t do any of that. We’ve got to move on already." I would LOVE to "move on" but as long as the Orange Hued Felon-to-be continues to be the front runner for the GOP nomination that is impossible. How can we "move on" when Trump is out there every single day bringing it back up. As long as he is the face of the Republican Party we are going to have to address his illegal activities.
and here I thought this was gonna be an exciting thread about Nikki Haley but turns out its just another Trump Trump Trump whine session. What you quoted from her is 100% true though. It is more important to focus on those things instead of a former president. SAD!
Well, she does have a point. Trump get himself in this mess, either by what he said, what he did, or both, and reporters want to hear comments from the other GOP candidates. And since Haley served as Trump's UN Ambassador for two years, I guess reporters go to her first more often than most of the other GOP candidates since he worked for the man. What she is saying, in effect, is that Trump should drop out of the race, which is the "move on" moment she is referring to. She also knows by not saying that directly, many of the Trump acolytes won't know that is what she truly intends that Trump should do while not getting the ire and death threats from some of Trump's acolytes. .
this is what Pence said when he was asked about the January 6th indictment, "Today's indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States.....I will have more to say about the government’s case after reviewing the indictment." Pence pretty much told Trump that he should never be president again since he put himself and his ego above the US Constitution. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pence-comes-swinging-trump-january-6-indictment
These R candidates are turning themselves upside down and inside out trying to appease ALL. They won't disparage Trump and anger his base, but they want to look like good law and order candidates for the more traditional Rs. The rest of us, of course, are just seeing them for the cowards they are.
LOL-- the federal indictment of a former President, on charges that he conspired to thwart our democratic system, is not enough of a news story, for Haley to comment on.
So, you're basically saying that Trump should be harassed by the DOJ because he, so far, is leading in the polls.
Nothing new here. The opportunist Nikki is still whoring for his VP slot so let's not address or god forbid repeat her 2021 never again warning of following Trump. As she gurgles in Trump's swamp. "We Shouldn't Have Followed Him": Nikki Haley Turns on Trump After Capitol Riot' By Ryan Chatelain Nationwide PUBLISHED 12:20 PM ET Feb. 12, 2021 "We need to acknowledge he let us down," she said, referring to Trump's actions leading up to Jan. 6. "He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again." https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-borough...nikki-haley-turns-on-trump-after-capitol-riot
No, I’m saying he’s a dangerous autocrat who should never EVER be let near the levers of power. Four years of him in the White House almost ruined this country. Under no circumstances should he be given another chance. His first time around he was held in check by the necessity of running again. If he were to be elected this time he’d have no such limitations. Add to that a failure to hold him accountable for what he did will just embolden him to do even more outrageous things.
Meanwhile Pence remained silent knowing for weeks that the POTUS and his cronies were planning a coup. He took an oath to support and defend the Constitution against domestic enemies. His "So Help Me God" ended up as the title of his book.
Sounds like Nikki Haley isnt very concerned whether she'll be the next target of a biased DOJ. I guess we know where her intentions are.
Trying to steal billions of dollars from the taxpayers to pay off student loans that he had no authority to do which is why the courts told him no. Blatantly trying to buy votes and going around Congress and violating the Constitution
