Why is the Gregorian calendar needed? it is not available in all countries we need a calendar for all countries like the French calendar
And........????? Why change calendars after some, what, 500 years of using this one? What practical benefit would there be?
So this isn't really about finding something better it's about trying to scrub religion from everything.
What does religion have to do with anything? Certainly it doesn't have anything to do with today being September 8, 2023.
How does this calendar account for the fractional days that are dealt with in the Gregorian calendar through leap year?
The calendar is not a religion. It had a religious origin. But getting rid of something that's functional just out of spite is not really that useful and only to replace it with something that is almost a duplicate is less useful.
Pope Gregory who the Gregorian calendar is named after was a pope and because it's called the Gregorian calendar instead of just the 12-month calendar it's there for religious.
Agree it's stupid to whine about it because it's named after a Pope that essentially just rubber stamped it. Interesting fact the days of the week are named after taking dogs I haven't heard too many Christians planning about that.
Let people believe what they wish. There is nothing "unhealthy" about faith, regardless of which religion or spiritual practice it is. I'm all for science too, but to me, thinking that everything came from nothing without a higher power of some sort is as much a religious belief as any other religion.
