So you agree he’s a bad CEO?

Tell it to the auto workers union that wants a 46% wage increase.

    It's five times better.

I don't accept "it's silly" as an economic argument.

And what does that have to do with minimum wage legislation? Minimum wage legislation has no application to CEOs.

Self-checkout has been an ever present force for more than a decade now. It’s not new. They were everywhere long before anyone we fretting about increases in the minimum wage.

I don’t bother positing economic arguments to combat silly ones.

Sure it does. People worry that increasing the minimum wage will increase the cost of goods, but no one bats an eye at another few million thrown the way of the CEO each year. Almost like people have been trained to despise the working poor.

Well, first it would have to be demonstrated as "silly", whatever that means in economics.

It won't increase the cost of goods. Prices for goods are determined by consumer demand, not by the cost to produce them. That is why companies go out of business..

Minimum wage simply results in unemployment.

Wow, it seems everyone is either silly or wrong!

But name calling is always easier than actually arguing one's case.

It’s silly because it’s a diversion away from the merits a $20 minimum wage. Argue the merits of the proposal, not your five times exaggeration.

I think the proposal has no merit. It's not enough. The minimum wage should be $100. Nobody can live on $20 an hour.

I feel short. If only the government would increase the number of lines on rulers I could feel a lot taller. Maybe then I can reach the cookie jar on the top shelf.

why not just use slave labor, then things be way cheaper - then everyone will be rich

wages need to stay in balances with cost of living, they have not kept up
