Never have I been less excited about England's prospects in the world cup. There is a real possibility that they could fail to progress from the group stage. After their recent defeat to Fiji anything is possible. Scotland have a far more difficult group than England as they will have to beat either Ireland the favourites or South Africa the holders. Wales will have to beat Fiji or Australia to get to the knockout stages. No Canada or USA this time around which is a shame but Argentina, Uruguay and Chile representing the Americas. South Africa and Namibia representing Africa, Japan the sole Asian nation and the rest from either Europe or Australasia. France are currently taking on the All Blacks in the opening game and leading 9-8 at half time.
This France v New Zealand game is really warming up. France leading 16-13 with NZ down to 14 men for the next 10 mins.
France pulling away in the end. A penalty and 2 tries making it 28-13. The All Blacks' first ever defeat in the group stage of the World Cup.
Good analysis. England will probably lose to the Argies this evening. It's difficult to see the Scots qualifying. Wales could easily lose to Fiji. I live in France so if England bomb out I'll support the French. Would be great for them to win at home.
If it all goes to form I think we may be looking at a France v Ireland final. The Springboks being the only possible fly in the ointment.
Decent first half after conceding a red card in the first 3 mins. 3 drop kicks from Ford make the difference. 12-3 to England.
No hand of God to help them this time. Great may be a bit of an exaggeration but England played well with a man down. Argentina's indiscipline let England off.
Thanks. Even though my son played rugby in high school (and even spent some time in England with his team playing against local teams, to learn more), Rugby is not a sport that I follow. I attended his games, thought it was fun, but still, I never really got into it once he stopped playing. The issue for me is that it is too close to American Football which already occupies a significant chunk of the time I have to watch sports, so I don't really find the time to watch rugby. But anyway, thanks for the highlights, I did watch your clip. I enjoyed it.
Ireland truly is a juggernaut. As you remember, they beat France 32-19 back in February during the Six Nations Championship. I can't wait to see the Irish take on the defending champs on the 23rd. The Springboks have looked real solid lately...
Unconvincing win by France 27-12. Didn't really pull away from the 200-1 outsiders until the last 10 mins. Mind you, this Uruguay team is going to push Namibia and Italy and even the All Blacks will be worried by their performance.
Your videos are blocked here, actually. England v Japan this evening, looking for a better performance and some tries this time! Penalties and drops won't get us very far.
