I told you what I am--a nasty moderate. The first duty of the government is to protect the people. We can consider Israel's circumstance and what Israel might do.

This is going to give righties a big mental disconnect. Their hero Putin is siding with Hamas, whereas the supposed Nazi Zelenski is siding with Israel. What to do, what to do? I know what to do, wait for RW media to give marching orders to fix this conundrum. That's the problem when you look at everything in the world as black or white.

Since Putin is siding with Hamas, does this mean the left now sides with Putin? I know what to do, wait for Joe and Mika to give marching orders to fix this conundrum.

FFS!, Israel couldn't even put together an emergency govt yet and the US's House is impotent as 3 ****ing imbeciles vie for SOTH.
Sure signs of the failure of both The Great American Experiment and The Great Israel Experiment.

US says it is talking to Israel about safe passage for Gaza civilians
    Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON, Oct 10 (Reuters) - The United States is talking to Israeli officials and others about the idea of a safe passage for Gaza civilians after Israel's air strikes following a deadly Hamas attack over the weekend, the U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday.

"We are focused on this question, there are consultations going on," Sullivan told reporters in a White House press briefing.

Israel has battered Palestinians with deadly air strikes in Gaza after Palestinian Islamist group Hamas' attack on Israel on Saturday that left hundreds dead.

I would criticize them for not focusing on the public education, healthcare, incomes, housing.
The national core are socialists--Marxists. They don't hate whites; they dislike anyone who supports the system.

Duh! Why would the Left, "side with Putin?" Oh, that's right, you also think that the Leftist media believes "every word," that Hamas says, about not killing any civilians-- IOW, you know nothing at all, about the Left.

We do not support terrorism, and never were fans of Hamas (as so many of you, on the Right are, of Putin).

I'm way too much a suspicious cynic.
Just a coincidence Israel has very contested elections without a winner for a long time and soon after the guy running on security gets in Hamas attacks and their support, military and financial starts flowing.? "Their" being both sides.
    Yep, suspicious cynic.

Why wouldn't Hezbollah keep attacking Israel who is at it weakest?

What’s the Difference Between Hamas and Hezbollah?

'Hezbollah, like Hamas, is designated a terrorist group by the U.S. and other countries and both share an antipathy toward Israel.
Hamas follows the Sunni branch of Islam, along with the majority of the Islamic world. Hezbollah ascribes to the Shia branch like Iran, so has longer-running ties to the Islamic Republic.
Formed in the aftermath of the 1982 Lebanon War, Hezbollah was established as an umbrella group for the country's disparate Shiite factions. Its fighters were trained in part by forces from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. In the 1990s, Hezbollah adopted a more formal political role in Lebanon and has become a prominent faction in that country's ruling alliance.
Hezbollah and Hamas both aim to eradicate the Israeli state. Hezbollah leaders praised Hamas after the Oct. 7 attacks and there has been some fighting with Israeli troops along the Israel-Lebanon border since the Hamas assault.

Hezbollah also serves Iran’s broader objectives in the Middle East by opposing any Western or Israeli presence in the region.

A U.S. aircraft carrier strike force is due to arrive in the Eastern Mediterranean on Tuesday. A defense official described the deployment as “a deterrent signal to Iran, Lebanese Hezbollah, and any other proxy across the region” who were considering joining the conflict.

It's hard to see where you are going here. Are you suggesting that Hamas's receipt of Iran's help and guidance on attacking Israel was, in some way, a result of those elections? Are you trying to suggest that what is going on currently isn't barbaric or horrific because you're cynical? That seems, at best, specious....

We have a pretty good idea of why Hamas attacked Israel. Hamas leadership hasn't been silent. The attack took a long time to plan and was initially devised due to all the typical reasons Palestine would want to attack Israel. But, the timing was determined by two primary factors: the Saudi-Israeli agreement and improved relations with Iran.

The Saudi-Israeli agreement meant the Palestinians saw their hopes of a two-state solution slowly dying. With the Israelis allied with the Saudis they would lose a major political ally in their two-state goal. Additionally, less than a year ago, Hamas and Iran fixed their relationship, and they're back to being full-time partners again.

This is why the Biden administration releasing $6 billion to Iran was such a big deal. With Iran knowing they have $6 billion coming to them they now have money to help Hamas's terrorism. This was also further complicated by the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that resulted in us leaving a stockpile of weapons that went entirely into the hands of terrorists in the Middle East, many of those weapons are now being used by Hamas to attack Israel. It's crazy to think that we left the Taliban so many weapons that they couldn't even use them all. So they are now dispersed to other terrorist groups funding the Taliban and arming terrorists.

No, I don't like what Hamas has done, vile.
Nor do I like what Israel does to Palestinians, equally vile.
Yet there have been mixed neighborhoods that get along just fine until one or the other group gets kicked out by someone outside the neighbors. Vile.

My "alert" system hasn't been alerting me for every post made by others on threads I am on.
I'll get a few alerts and when I go on the thread there are loads of posts I wasn't alerted to.

    All my boxes are checked.
