An investigation and trial of mass murder of over 500 civilians (including women, children and babies), which led to no one doing any hard time is theatre. Only one person, Lt Calley was convicted, and he served 3.5 yrs in house arrest, and then pardoned.

That's theatre. They investigated only so they could say they did something.

Lets compare that to Hamas, and the mass murder they just committed. Would it justice to convict one person, and sentence him to 3.5 yrs in house arrest, and let everyone else off the hook? Hell no. Everyone involved deserves the death penalty.

Lt Calley is still alive and has enjoyed his entire life as a free man right here in Miami, - a mass murderer.

There is great moral hazard sitting in judgment, in comfort and safety, of soldiers in combat deployments. There is no such moral hazard sitting in judgment of terrorists killing unsuspecting civilians.

Not sure why you'd try to defend and justify the massacre of 500 allied civilians, mostly women, children and babies. That's "moral hazard" if anything.

Almost 3 million Americans served honorably in Vietnam, without murdering innocent civilians, but those who did should have faced justice, but they didn't.

 

I don't defend anything. But I've spent time in war zones and spent many years among war fighters, and I know the difference between soldiers acting contrary to their training and orders and terrorists acting as they were ordered and trained to do.

Whenever it was "created" it was a grave mistake and the Jews should be sent back from whence they came ... or at least let the Palestinians decide what to do with them. But that should be clear to everyone thinking logically.

In 1948, post ww2, the state of Israel declared its existence, and was immediately set upon by multiple arab nations. It fought for its survival and won. This pattern occurred several times, each time it ended up with more territory because its attackers suck at fighting actual soldiers and are only good at killing civilians.

The state of Israel was founded in 1948.

 

The bottom line is that Palestine should be ruled by the Palestinians, not by the Jews. Israel as a nation unto itself should be dissolved pending Palestinian decree. I have no doubt that the Palestinians will allow the Jews to reside in some part(s) and 'maybe' even allow them limited self-governing. A happy day for everyone!
