We are too busy preparing concentration camps. Why do you ask?

How would voting to confirm high ranking military officials “harm the country”?

The perspective on this has been very consistent but I will break it down so that hopefully it rectifies any confusion going forward:

The Conservative Party is unable to compete so they are resorting to more and more extreme measures to seize power.

When is the last time one of your team was able to win the majority of the votes for president? Hell, when with the system fully stacked in your favor y’all can barely win.

Not to even mention the number of states y’all have gerrymandered or attempted to gerrymander with many of them being struck down by courts where y’all also ignoring those decisions.

These are not the doings of a party with a strong grasp on good policy.

So is the party dying, or doing a global takeover? Can't be both.

They won't vote for a speaker either. Note such confirmations are done in the senate not the house anyway.

Routine RP election cycle hot air. The DNC probably drafted it for their challenged RNC friends.

They cannot even choose a speaker so I don’t see it being a “global takeover”. The party is in decline and they are trying to seize power.

It’s not that difficult to understand

Wow! Sounds like Biden and the Democrats read this and used it in 2020 to get elected.

Wouldn't that be best addressed by contacting your congressman and senator rather than doing an end run around "Separation of Powers" and giving on man absolute control of our government and, by extension, our lives?
No, I don't suppose that NOT being a republican would be an attempt to "over take" the country.
But you're OK with neutering their establishment of separation of powers and giving ALL power to the executive branch?
Are you talking about the Federal Reserve and Central Banking or the Federal Government? I'm all for taking the the power of creating money away from a few private bankers and putting it back in the hands of our Representatives as the founders intended.
I love the Federalist Papers, whenever there is a question about what our Constitution means they are a ready companion of clarification. I'm glad you've brought Federalist #45 into this discussion. For instance it opens with:

"HAVING shown that no one of the powers transferred to the federal government is unnecessary or improper".

    And goes on to say:

"But if the Union, as has been shown, be essential to the security of the people of America against foreign danger; if it be essential to their security against contentions and wars among the different States; if it be essential to guard them against those violent and oppressive factions which embitter the blessings of liberty, and against those military establishments which must gradually poison its very fountain; if, in a word, the Union be essential to the happiness of the people of America, is it not preposterous, to urge as an objection to a government, without which the objects of the Union cannot be attained, that such a government may derogate from the importance of the governments of the individual States?"

It's my contention that there is no threat to OUR (necessary) National Government, State Governments and, Individual Rights than the scheme to concentrate power in one man. That, btw, has proven himself incapable of governing anyone, especially himself. To which end Federalist 45 says:

"We have heard of the impious doctrine in the Old World, that the people were made for kings, not kings for the people. Is the same doctrine to be revived in the New, in another shape that the solid happiness of the people is to be sacrificed to the views of political institutions of a different form?"

I firmly believe that,"There IS nothing wrong with These United States that cannot be fixed by what is right with These United States." For every ill you can name OUR Constitution provides a solution. What these right wing radicals are proposing is nothing short of treason.

Yeah, that was quite an attack on Jan. 6th. We need more attacks with flags. Can you imagine attacking the government without guns or Molotov cocktails or even matches to start fires once inside. The majority walked in and looked around and then walked out. One jittery security cop shot an unarmed female crawling through a window. If that's the best the right can do in an armed revolution, I don't think we have much to worry about. On the other hand, in many cities, armed leftist groups can attack Federal buildings, loot and burn stores, police cars, and kill people. Roving gangs raid stores and smash and grab as much loot as they carry. Leftist prosecutors and some politicians think it is ok because they are minorities and deserve some of the wealth that society didn't give them.

Who’s absolved? I specifically stated 8 republicans voted for it. They’re dumb AF.

unlike you however, I’m able to know that 200+ is a bigger number than 8 and votes determine responsibility for what happens in Congress.

Strange that if I acknowledge that votes determine responsibility and that 200 is bigger than 8 and these BS claims that Democrats don’t have any responsibility for there being no speaker, somehow I’m defending Gaetz.

But thanks for the additional reiteration of overspun BS. Glad to know there are so many of you Dems who have no clue votes=responsibility not just the clown who makes the legislation or motion.

Votes mattering is an alternative fact?

Lol I got the whole forums population of liberals arguing that votes don’t determine responsibility. This is epic gold!

Lol so you think manufacturing the motion is the same as actively blowing up the bomb.

    lol. How sad.

What's even more funny is the Democrats wanted a chance to vote FOR Hakeem Jeffries to become Speaker, why would you think they would vote otherwise.

Shhhhhhhhh, you're interfering with leftwing indoctrination and boogeyman fear mongering...

Simply look at what and who they voted as president, and look around at the U.S. and the world...

If you were going to ruin a country, what more could you do that the parties have and continue to do presently ;)

they, and 8 moron republicans, voted to blow up the speakership and you blame solely republicans for there being no speaker, displaying zero understanding of the importance of votes as they relate to responsibility.

I’m sorry if you and every other forum liberal doesn’t get this fundamental fact of democracy.

Good question, why would they blow up the speakership with no realistic chance at putting the pieces back together?

Oh well that would be because they’re morons

Its been 13 days. 13 crucial days. And still no replacement. I realize it isn't an overnight process, but in times like these, shouldn't Gaetz (or someone else) have had a plan for the aftermath?
