Black American support for Trump has been surging up for some time now. Good for DJT, but probably not for other RP candidates.

“Three years after Donald Trump pulled about 8 percent of the Black vote nationally, polling this month by The New York Times and Siena College of six battleground states found his support had bumped up to 22 percent of the Black electorate if the election were held today. Other polls looked even worse for the Democrats; a national poll by CNN registered Trump’s support among Black voters at 23 percent, while an earlier Fox News poll put it at 26 percent.

Those are jaw-dropping numbers for a demographic that, traditionally, has been the Democratic Party’s most reliable voting bloc. And it’d be bad enough for the Democratic Party if the erosion of Black support was strictly about Biden or the likely Republican nominee, former President Trump.”

Well thats all great for black politicians, but it doesnt help the black people very much. It sounds like this Fisher guy prefers jobs coming to black communities over race based virtue signalling and masses of cheap labor migration.

Support for Biden is slipping fast. He will need to rack up some solid accomplishments to turn that around.
Nevertheless, IMO, it is a mistake to assume that any President cannot reverse the numbers a year out from an election.

As he did last time. As Romney did a year out. He can win, but polls now don’t mean much imo.

The left isn't going down without a fight. This is Chicago's mayor talking:

"What we've seen is a very raggedy form of right-wing extremism. Everyone knows that the right-wing extremism in this country has targeted democratically run cities and quite frankly and they have been quite intentional about going after democratically ran cities that are led by people of color."

"It's the same Republican right-wing extremism that stormed the capital, its the same right wing extremism that refuses to accept the results of the civil war. Its raggedy its disrespectful, its mean spirited."

"They're still mad that a black man is free in this country."

I'm not surprised the marxists would support Trump. He sent out trillions worth of free money to everyone, so of course they want more of the same.

You said that about Trump supporters, not me.

    The Inconvenient Truth:

Trump actually gained support from black Americans in 2020. But then historically black American votes don’t matter much in America. Black Americans and DP politicians know that.
    Republicans? Not so much.

What part of assigning voter beliefs to candidates just because they vote for a candidate missed the point for you?
But please make every effort to slip in your Trumpisms at will. The obsession is real.
Wouldn't want to deny you any ability to deflect to your Trump what abouts when ever possible.

Agreed, but first you would have to have the cognitive ability to overcome the years of anti black statements you have accrued.
Somehow, I just don't see Biden reeling in his Corn Pop anytime soon.

Earth to @The Mello Guy, lack of potential supporter enthusiasm leads to poor voter turnout which leads to defeat. Just ask George H. W. Bush in 1992.

JRB's record on race relations over his many decades in politics is not good, but positive good acts can overcome a lot of that history.

    Realpolitik in the DP:

"The next day, before heading to Sanders class, I stopped into see Selma's long-time mayor. Joe Smitherman's [Mayor of Selma Alabama during the Freedom March to the Pettis Bridge] career was a minor classic of southern politics. A former appliance store owner, Smitherman had risen through the political ranks as an avowed segregationist, served as mayor during the civil rights turmoil, and deftly tacked with the changing winds ever since. He was now in his eighth term as mayor in a city that was 60 percent black and had a black majority on its city council and school board."

"When running against other Whites, I've gotten 90% of the black vote" He said. This seemed a curious boast for a man who had once opposed voting rights demonstrators, and who had once stumbled at a press conference, referring to "Martin Luther Coon."

"Now a graying man of sixty four, Smitherman wore a Snoopy tie and sat chain-smoking amidst mementos that mirrored the curious twists during in his three decades in office: a Confederate flag, a tommy gun, framed photographs of George Wallace, Lester Maddox, Jesse Jackson, and the black assistant police chief of Selma. He reached into his filing cabinet for a news clip about a recent visit by John Lewis, a civil rights leader who was hospitalized with a severe concussion after Bloody Sunday. "Lewis said the change in Selma is "almost unbelievable", Smith said "And he had his skull busted open here."

Abraham Lincoln authored the Emancipation Proclamation that marked steps toward liberty for all declaring “that all persons held as slaves” within rebel states “are, and henceforward shall be free.

Yet Democrats destroyed his statues where they could get access to them.

I just don't see Biden in the same light of great men. And I think his economy and mindset about blacks leaves no corner to turn in under a year.
In todays divided times, once damage is done, voters don't recant. And I see no possibility of miracles on the horizon where Biden is concerned. The damage to this country by him is way to deep seeded. And any attempt for Joe to reverse course will cost him his base.

Have we not seen how Democrats protesting for Palestine have reacted?

All of this odd LW support for Hamas/Palestinians will hurt the DP and Biden, but things can change fast in a year -- especially in the ME.
