Uh, that was sarcasm. You've had ample opportunity to substantiate your assertions......and you haven't.
That's probably how you take everyone who doesn't agree with you. Oh no incredibly biased dishonest people don't take me seriously whatever will I do?
another thread, related to the title of this thread and of a more humorous nature: Searching for father of her child, woman brings in 6 different men to be tested. None are the father
The death blow was the legalization of abortion which essentially justified and gave the green light to promiscuity which leads to unwanted conceptions. This stamp of approval removed any shame associated with promiscuity, thus increasing the behavior. The increase in the behavior results in more unwanted conceptions and more out of wedlock births. Then welfare steps in, further alienating Fatherhood in support of the aberrant behavior. It is these Fatherless/Husbandless homes which turn out unguided children who are responsible for the bulk of the increase of crime in our country. The general devaluing of our sexuality has pulled out all the lynch pins and given cart blanche to the flowering of the homosexual movement. And it is all contrary to our origins which are that we are the result of the marriage and uniting between a man and woman. In this, we are born chaste and virgin. This is the foundation or benchmark of our sexuality. To be true to our origins and to our root, we should get married, have children and raise a family. Everything outside of this is to deviate from reason. Not that I'm Mr. Righteousness. But one must give credit to the truth and to reason where it is due. Welfare and the legalizing of abortion are two of the most unwise things our nation has ever done. And the damage from it is nearly irreversible because it has corrupted our people. Granted that people are free to do what they want. But if what they want is wrong, then don't call it right by virtue of loving evil more than good. Otherwise you victimize everyone with your polluting influence. And your rank stink wafts up to the very God of American freedom.
Thank you Mr. Righteouness for the "truth" but I have a different opinion of the "truth". Men have always been promiscuous. They would love to be able to spread their DNA far and wide. And some have been in a position to do that. Think Trump vs you. Women were not in that position to enjoy their sexuality prior to contraception. Now they can have all the sex they want and men are willing to provide same. Abortion wasn't the driver, that is the least favored form of birth control. Premarital sex is now the standard. Marriage is optional and becoming less so. To you the world is now "deviant". Being unmarried with children does not turn children into criminals. The much repeated, correlation does not imply causation comes to mind. Statistically the poorer you are the more likely you will be an unmarried mother. That was true well before contraception and welfare. Statistically, again, the poorer you are the more likely you will be a victim or perpetrator of crime. So, so far, we have poverty driving crime. There is another issue with poverty, in that living in poverty is stressful. Living with a high degree of stress causes brain development changes in children due to high cortisol levels. Those changes can include learning disabilities, poor concentration, impulsiveness, poor emotional control, hypervigilance, low empathy, little foresight and more likely to have addictive behavior. Sound familiar? Not the best students in the world, more likely to drop out, get in trouble with the law, make babies and repeat the process.
A friend once told me she had a friend who is an actor that appeared on the Maury show and it was like being in improv, you get a scenario and wing it.
If I asked how I have been an "incredibly biased dishonest" person I would probably get.....crickets.
If the government made sterilization a requirement for receiving welfare benefits, while introducing government funded abortion on demand, I am convinced the illegitimacy rate would decline dramatically. This would not be compulsory sterilization because those refusing to be sterilized would be denied something they had done nothing to earn. A single government funded abortion would save a small fortune in welfare expense, criminal justice expense, crimes not committed, and trying to educate those too stupid to learn and too lazy to try.
Nevertheless, it remained possible for unmarried females to raise illegitimate children whose unmarried fathers did not care about them. It remained possible because of the pathological altruism that causes responsible married couples to support a welfare system that subsidies illegitimacy. Liberal social change encourages private behavior that has expensive public consequences.
Your ideas, besides being cruel, would not pass Constitution muster and like most right-wingers think people receiving "welfare", of which there are many different programs, are on it for life, when the average is two years. Forcing a life changing procedure on someone when they are desperate is cruel. I'm all in for Medicaid paying for LARCs like IUDs, abortions, tubal ligations and vasectomies. That may save a few tax dollars and make their lives better, but the right doesn't like it. Is that what you mean by "liberal social change encourages private behavior that has expensive public consequences"?
The Constitution is flexible enough to allow deep cuts in welfare and a substantial increase in the likelihood and severity of punishment. That is what I want. I am sure there are plenty of Americans who agree. Cruelty wins elections.
Yes, those are Americans who believe in a class hierarchy, have little empathy for people outside their group, believe self interest is paramount, and mistrust/fear all social change. Those people are called right-wingers.
I am in favor of higher taxes for rich people and more punishment and less welfare for the underclass. We need rich people. We just do not need for them to be as rich as they are. We do not need people with IQ's of 75 or below. They cannot be educated and they are unemployable.
I had a coworker who had a daughter with Down's Syndrome and she had a job she loved. It seems you only value people by a test that measures language and math abilities, so you are discarding much of humanity with prejudice. A sad world to live in.
Yep, I ruined my life with a long contractual relationship, yet all four of my kids were born to married women and by a slim chance they were married to me.
What leads one people to starvation trains the other for hard work. - Adolf Hitler, from Mein Kampf, Volume I, Chapter XI, "Nation and Race"
You and I will need to agree to disagree about each of those three books. Hitler was obviously mistaken about the Jews, but he had valid insights about human nature and social psychology.
