Not according to the 1947 United Nations partition plan which established the nation of Israel and the Arab controlled territory. The Arabs attacked Israel and the result was the loss of additional land. Plus there were Palestinian Jews in the area who had been there for centuries and those Jews who moved to Israel purchased land there. And as well all know the area was part of the Ottoman Empire for four hundred years prior to WWI. Before that the Romans among others controlled the area and after WWI and before 1947 the British controlled the area. That is the recent history of this area. There has never been a Zionist occupation whatever that even means.

 

The Palestinians have a strange idea of what "freedom" means.
