Why are we allowing this? Shouldn't researchers who engage in this kind of behavior be imprisoned? Shouldn't politicians and bureaucrats who engage in this kind of behavior be imprisoned? These idiotic monsters are developing world ending technology in labs. For what purpose? All it now takes to end civilization is another Wuhan "accident".

China is off the leash and starting to dominate all technology. We have no means to stop them as they are pumping high end researchers/engineers out of their system at a rate that is ten times higher than America.

At some point, you have to start asking hard questions about the folks who are sponsoring and demanding these research products. Like Fauci. Talk about hubris.... It appears like this is a variant from a naturally-existing coronavirus, which has mutated in cell culture, all before the covid pandemic. What this shows is that there are coronavirus variants out in the wild that could jump to humans any moment, and which could have a much higher mortality rate than SarsCov2, In fact, we knew that already from SarsCov1, which was more deadly, but much less contagious than SarsCov2.

The question is, when is virus research useful in studying natural coronavirus variants, with the potential to avoid future outbreaks, and when does it become dangerous, in terms of the potential of spillover from the lab into the population? It's something that politicians should work on regulating, but since the covid pandemic is officially declared over, there seems to be little desire to do so.
