This is long over due, even Biden says the border isn't secure after he, Harris and Mayorkas have told us for several years that it was. Of all of Biden's cabinet positions, the secretary of homeland security is one of the most vital positions and the person holding that position can't literally be working to weaken our security.

Politics, nothing more. Every move the GOP makes is purely about politics and power. The GOP couldn't care less about governing.

It's all the more laughable given that Trump is blocking a bipartisan deal on the border.

Trump is not elected, and there is little in the bill that Biden/Mayorkas cannot already do. The bill is simply to force their hands on certain issues and a way for the Biden administration to have an "out" from the fringe open borders wing of their party who recognize that something needs to change if they plan to win elections in November, but who would attack Biden for making the changes unilaterally. Biden/Mayorkas have been ignoring existing immigration laws already, so who knows if they would actually enforce new laws? They've been finding "loopholes" in an attempt to end-run Congress and leave the border open and unsecured. The fact that they were part of the formation of the agreement makes the bill questionable in the eyes of many conservatives, especially since a lot of it leaves components to the discretion of Biden/Mayorkas, who have proven to want a border crisis.

Hold the line Biden. Force the GOP to actually govern and give you a bipartisan bill for you to sign to deal with the border.

Dudes, Biden is in charge and opened the border on day one while his idiotic stooge who is supported to provide security to the homeland made things worse. You can blame anyone you want, but the border disaster is on Biden and Mayorkas.

Why doesn’t Biden simply cancel his executive orders that opened up the border?

The border is not anymore open today than it was on mangos last day. We get it Steve. This is the final battle call your party has at winning any elections.

It's laughable that people believe Biden/Mayorkas don't already have the laws, funding, and tools to secure our border and they'll actually enforce new laws while ignoring existing laws.

Yes it is. We have catch and release, currently. On "Mango's" last day we had Title 42, remain in Mexico, actual asylum interviews, etc. Your statement is completely false and devoid of any factual basis.

That doesn't solve the border issues, Steve. Unless of course you believe our immigration laws to be perfect. Is that what you're saying?

Title 42 didn't solve the issues at our border, poppy. Care to try again?

You think this new bill would make our immigration laws "perfect?" I have a bridge to sell you...

The truth is that Biden/Mayorkas have a ton of tools already at their disposal within the current law to have a major impact on our border and national security. But, they're choosing to.

So you just admitted that the GOP has no interest in legislating and actually contributing to helping the border issue.

    Color me shocked

What are you talking about? You claimed on Trump's "last day" the border wasn't any more secure than it is today. On Trump's last day there were a ton of policies in place that made the border far more secure than it is today, one example is Title 42. I listed other policies as well as "etcetera" to denote there were more th at I didn't mention. It's okay to admit you were wrong rather than whining about "poppies" or whatever else it is that has your cognitive dissonance flaring up. It's not my fault you made factually incorrect statements that you can't defend publicly.

This response has nothing to do with what you quoted me saying. More cognitive dissonance from your prior absurd statements being challenged that you cannot defend.

    Color me shocked. :roflol:

Did the people stop coming poppy? Did the drugs stop coming, poppy? Did the human trafficking stop occurring, poppy?

Tell me again how wonderful that wall worked, poppy.

I stand by my statement. The GOP is purposely making the border a crisis as this is all they have left at claiming any power.

Nothing will stop everyone from coming. What a silly argument to whine about, Sobby. There's degrees of security and you falsely claimed the border was not more secure before Biden's administration came into power and made changes. Due to those changes we have more people coming, more drugs, more rapes, more deaths, more terrorists and unknowns, less resources patroling the border, reduced background checks, more lost children, reduced standards for fosters, more people released based on the same type of claims, etc.

No you don't, Sobby. You have not mentioned a single policy change by the Biden administration that actually made the border more, rather than less secure. You haven't stood by your statement. You're just repeating a baseless statement that you haven't even attempted to defend with facts.

There are several genuine crises facing America, but the kowtowing Trump crackpots in Congress are placating their whiny Loser by killing a bipartisan bill to tighten border security, and servicing the sexual abuser's whims with their farcical "dead on arrival" impeachment of a Cabinet Secretary, having conspicuously failed to concoct credible evidence against the President.

... Impeaching Mayorkas was not the Republicans’ first choice. For two years, House GOP leaders vowed they were going to impeach President Biden himself. But after lots of puffing and preening, and after holding several committee hearings in which they promised to produce the “smoking gun” but didn’t, Republicans changed course: from Impeachment Plan A (Biden) to Impeachment Plan B (Mayorkas).

Now what everyone wants to know is: Exactly what are the “high crimes and misdemeanors” for which Republicans demand that Mayorkas be impeached? The answer is that there aren’t any. They want to impeach him because they don’t like the way he’s running his agency. They plan to impeach him over differences in policy.

... nowhere do they cite evidence of “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors” cited in the Constitution as grounds for impeachment.

Many conservative legal scholars agree that doesn’t pass the impeachment test. Michael Chertoff, former DHS secretary under President George W. Bush, wrote in the Wall Street Journal: “I can say with confidence that, for all the investigating the House Committee on Homeland Security has done, they have failed to put forth evidence that meets the bar.” George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley wrote in The Daily Beast: “There is no current evidence he is corrupt or committed an impeachable offense.”

Even Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.), one of the secretary’s chief critics, told reporters last week he was a “solid no” on impeaching Mayorkas because “this just isn’t an impeachable offense.”

The one thing about libs, with the exception of Manchin, is they tightly stick together on just about everything. Republicans don't do that, they're a bunch of wusses.

Most likely will be impeached next week. One GOP member changed his vote to no so that it can be re-voted on next week when Scalise is there

Doesn't change the fact that this GOP led congress is a complete joke
