Japan knew of the nuclear bomb test and its capabilities yet refused to surrender. It the U.S. did not have bomb all of Japan would have had to be destroyed like Germany killing far more civilians.

 

Soooo...Hamas could argue that Israel refused to give in to Palestinian demands, making it justifiable to make a terror attack. How is that any different than dropping a nuke on Japan because they refused to give in to our demands?
It is NO different. The only difference is it is incredibly difficult for us to admit to ourselves that ALL of humanity is the same, capable of extreme acts of love and extreme acts of senseless violence. We are able to justify the killings of an ungodly number of Japanese civilians in our mind because it saved OUR boys, but many are unable to empathize with the plight of Palestinians and Hamas because of the structures put in place to dehumanize them and paint them as somehow less than human.

NONE of the killing is ok, whether it is a nuke dropped from a B-29 on an extremely dense population or Hamas killing civilians at a music festival. It is identical. Our brains just rebel at the idea, doing mental acrobats to allow us to sleep well at night.

 

It’s either Israel’s children or Gaza’s children. Unfortunately for Palestinians they voted for a terrorist government who broke the peace deal that was in place since 2006. If someone sucker punches me like Hamas did to Israel I won’t stop defending myself until the person who attacked me is in the hospital. The call for a proportional response by Israel is laughable.

 

The only demand Gazans have is the complete destruction of Israel.

 

Israel voted for a government that double crossed the Palestinians again and again and again. By your logic, the Hamas attacks were justified from the point of view of Palestinians, because Israel elected a government that has killed so many Palestinians and injured and held unjustly so many more.

 

Yet it is ok when Israel actually DOES destroy all of Gaza???

Israel has had the means to destroy Gaza since 1947, 100 times over.

Actually half of Japan would belong to Russia if we didn't force them to surrender. As it is now Japan has three islands lost to Russia that they will never get back.
