I wasn't looking for a justification for allowing Russia to annex Ukraine or parts of it, I was talking about you describing modern day Russia as a communist state.

I'm still trying to figure out why you think that (if in fact you do).

 

The current question is the reasons for the amazing current view that the USA should allow Russia to annex Ukraine - the breadbasket of Europe, as the current step in Putin's expansionism.

Russia is improving, but one can't ignore the economic influence of the cabal of oligarchs who work under the watch of the dictator, Putin.

The fact that Ukraine isn't part of NATO is not an excuse for allowing a slaughter of those who are fighting for their country to continue to exist.

Plus, the UN charter specifically states that expanding land holdings by military force is not legitimate. Allowing this act by Russia is a serious erosion of the UN direction of stability and rule of law - as opposed to the idea that any superior power can bomb and take the land and people of any inferior power.

It is a statement of what we stand for.
