What makes up the Constitution of the United States, but its people? Back when the word 'constitution' was used in 1776 terms, it meant more than the constitutional document(a mistake Milley also made), they meant the constitution of the WHOLE body. Otherwise the people would have wanted(and could have gotten) a 'public service' clause, since the people had to sign on to the new government. But they didn't find it necessary, why?

It's very obvious from the preamble that the writers of the Constitution did not equate the people of the United States with the Constitution. Politicians take an oath to support the CONSTITUTION not "serve the people"

Of course by supporting the Constitution it is hoped that also leads to them also serving the citizens but make no mistake, the members of Congress FIRST priority is to support the Constitution.

In a perfect world supporting the Constitution would also serve the people.

But when the people demand unconstitutional things then it is the duty of the members of Congress to back the Constitution. The Republicans, and their continued support of Trump, have forgotten this.

There are a few Republicans who do remember where their loyalty should lie and they have been punished by the Republican Party (and the Republican voters) for their support of the Constitution over a single man.

 

This story tells me two things about democrats:

1. They will stick together on issues regardless of how damaging they are to the country.

2. If they’re willing to fly illegals into the country then it’s obvious they also want an open border that achieves the same goal.
