As much as Conservatives want to outrage Americans with some legislation that isn't even applicable to reality, the true outrage of 2024 immigration legislation was when Trump blocked the Bipartisan Senate immigration bill, which according to one of the bill sponsors, Sen Lankford (R-OK), was "the most comprehensive immigration bill in the history of the United States."

But it was not real. This amendment was for an imaginary problem, one seemingly conjured up in the mind of the typical MAGA Fox news reactionary.

It’s the same legality that CA did when they made stealing less than $940 no longer a crime. It’s EASY to make something ILLEGAL, legal if you just magically start allowing it to happen and don’t prosecute.

Just like asylum has no meaning. All they have to do is say they “feel persecuted”. That’s it. They don’t have to prove anything. Same argument with voter ID. Don’t have to prove anything. Just write your name down. Doesn’t matter if it’s real or not.

Sense a ****ing pattern here? :)

First of all, the problem is real no matter what CNN tells you. But if you think the problem is imaginary, then why would democrats vote against it instead of just moving on?

I don't actually watch TV, other than Survivor, as my one base pleasure, and the 49ers.

You should watch the National Geographic channel, they have shows like To Catch A Smuggler, Contraband Seized At The Border, plus another border show that I can't remember. They're interesting shows. The other day I watched it and a guy was trying to cross in from Canada with an expired green card, he has no job, no money and no means of supporting himself. They sent his ass back to Canada.

    Jesus Christ

What's the point of the constitution?

Do we come and spread our ignorance of the Australian constitution? No. So why do you do that to ours?

Stealing is still a crime. It’s just not a felony,
A trump judge ruled it’s legal. Go cry to him.

    Doesn't happen?

    I beg to differ

"The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is developing a new, voluntary Advance Travel Authorization (ATA) process to collect information from eligible noncitizens requesting advance authorization to travel to the United States to seek a discretionary grant of parole. … ATA launched October 12, 2022, to implement a parole process for certain undocumented noncitizens from select countries and their qualifying immediate family members, under which those individuals may request advance authorization to travel to the United States to seek a discretionary grant of parole. … CBP's ATA collection is conducted through the CBP One™ mobile application."

"The other major component of the policy changes is a new process to allow up to 24,000 Venezuelans who are outside the United States to travel by air to the U.S. interior and be paroled into the country. … Venezuelans granted parole will be allowed to stay for up to two years and apply for work authorization. Parole does not provide a dedicated pathway to U.S. lawful permanent residence."

That's directly from the department of homeland security and from the congressional research office.

    You wanna try again?

lol Langford just wanted his name on a bill to get reelected.

The idea that allowing 5,000 illegals into the country PER DAY is acceptable or somehow beneficial is patently absurd.

    Easy there. You are correct.

Still does not support the silly notion that the US is flying illegals into the country.

You ONLY receive asylum at a registered port of entry. There is no other way to receive asylum.

being flown here does not count lol

ALERT: Court Order on Circumvention of Lawful Pathways Final Rule

On Aug. 3, 2023, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued a stay of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California’s order in East Bay Sanctuary Covenant v. Biden, 18-cv-06810 (N.D. Cal.), vacating the Circumvention of Lawful Pathways (CLP) rule. At this time and while the stay remains in place, USCIS will continue to apply the CLP rule.

Under the rule, certain individuals who enter the United States through its southwest land border or adjacent coastal borders are presumed to be ineligible for asylum, unless they can demonstrate an exception to the rule or rebut the presumption. Individuals are encouraged to use lawful, safe, and orderly pathways to come to the United States.
