What should the US govt do with 200 Billion dollars? What they actually did was to load up a country next to Russia with 300 million dollars in weapons, and then progressively keep doubling down on the error and sending over more and more.
Yes definitely load up a country next to Russia with weapons, LOL! That's the best use of money for the options listed.
They don't want US citizens to have guns but they have no problem arming foreign citizens to the teeth
Yes, there's a certain hypocrisy there, democrats predominantly claim guns cause deaths or correlate with killings, but sending 300 million dollars in weapons to Kyiv would reduce the risk of violence in Ukraine. When it arrived in Feb 2022, it was put into use from Feb 19th 2022, with fairly heavy shelling of Donbass and Russia kept it's promise and moved forces in to protect Donbass on Feb 24th 2022.
You, and everyone living in the US. All courtesy of Bidden, who does as he is Bidden by those who bribe him.
Sorry, but I agree with most of our reasonable politicians who say that we would have to spend a lot more if we move our troops in, and become active in the war.
Infrastructure. Specifically- decreasing population density by developing some of our 640 million acres of uninhabited federal land into towns where people can escape urban ghettos and thrive.
Yep, great value for money, give Ukraine the tools, they'll spend their blood defeating Russia for us
Bankrupting Russia was a great idea when Reagan did it. Time have changed. Now we have politicians and their loyalists who are openly pro-Russia
Biden's support for Ukraine has seriously depleted Russian military capabilities while clearly demonstrating its military incompetence. ANOTHER BIDEN WIN
I'm not stuck in the ghetto. I already live in a rural community. But Even in 2015 when I bought my house, I had a considerable amount of trouble buying one as I was up against a bunch of investment firms (or possibly just one investment firm...) that was buying up all the affordable homes and flipping them into premium rentals. I eventually found one that was too old and too small (1942, 980 sq. ft) to be an attractive rental, so I'm good with a mortgage locked in well below modern rental rates in my area (and most areas for that matter). The primary expense of most Americans is housing, and that expense is making up a bigger and bigger portion of their overall expenses as more people are priced out of buying a home and rents scale according to what people can afford rather than according to how many people prefer to rent. Unless something changes, this trend stands to turn all of the US into a renter economy, and in a renter economy there is no financial independence. Financial independence is the bedrock of overall independence. So if we want to maintain our independence, we're going to have to figure out how to get more people into home ownership. We're on a steady trend in the opposite direction.
Joe Biden announced in a press release on Feb 24th 2022: "The Russian military has begun a brutal assault on the people of Ukraine without provocation, without justification, without necessity..." Joe is stating that Vladimir Putin made the decision to start the war and is therefore responsible for all subsequent deaths and other bad consequences. It was known that the Russian Federation was only spending 7 percent as much on weapons as the US was, and many of Russia's weapons were old or low tech So Joe would soon get credit for the expected victory. An upside with no downside. But as for the "brutal assault" "just begun" on Feb 24th, even NATO, our collection of allies, is unwilling to tell a lie that big: Jens Stoltenberg Gen. Sec. of NATO stated that the war had begun in 2014, contradicting the opening that Russia had begun the fighting. The war had already been going on as a civil war for 8 years before Feb 2022, and Russia only got militarily involved after the 'aid' from the US had arrived, including 300 million dollars in weapons including artillery shells needed for bombarding the Eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, and heavy bombardment of Donetsk started on Feb 19th 2022.
Ah. You drank the KoolAid. Buying a home has always been major and very hard to do. My dad couldn't find a house in Denver after he came home from WWII. Not at any price. My first home was (gasp!) $13,000, it was a bankruptcy and a true fixer upper. My monthly income was $800 and because of interest rates my monthly payment was almost half of that. Fixed it up, sold it at a nice profit, and have never lost money on housing. My son has had several opportunities to buy. All well within his means, some were fixer uppers, others were condos or paired homes. He always chickens out. Not sure your part of the country but only california or new york have real issues. I'm in colorado. I can find homes in my range anytime I want.
If the Ukraine war was just about Donbas or Donetsk, why did the Russian army try to march into Kiev? Why are they attacking Odessa? Russia trying to take Donetsk is akin to the US trying to take Tijuana or a large Mexican state because so many people speak English.
If you type into the search engine 'peace treaty Apr 1 2022 Istambul' you will find out why Russia sent a small force down to Kyiv. And there was a tactical reason, that it caused Zelenskyy to move his huge army back from Donbass allowing Russian Federation forces to move in and protect Donetsk.
Oops I left out the best use for the money and that was to secure the Southern Border. That would cost a lot less than the 200 Billion estimates are 11 Billion dollars but even 22 Billion would be a steel. 200 Billion comes from the expected cost of our war in Ukraine, which does not protect Ukraine, it has the usual result of making it a battle field (anyone remember Vietnam? the same happened there). Even if you believe the crap about Russia starting it, it is still doing nothing but getting Ukrainians killed.
I went with other suggestion..... I support an Unconditional but Taxable Basic Minimum Income to all Americans and Canadians...... that should be financed much as President Abraham Lincoln financed winning The Civil War. Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy CIDPUSA.ORG Five hundred dollars per month to all citizens and LEGAL RESIDENTS..... would get this started for a month and a half for three hundred and thirty million Americans but once this Big Cat Idea is out of the bag..... it will defend itself.... and not so easily go back into the bag. Economist Milton Friedman felt that this was the way to do away with the Welfare State..... because this B.M.I. would in no way prevent somebody from working..... whereas the existing Welfare State... punishes people for working.
