'WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sen. Rand Paul today issued a statement calling for the resignation of U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner from his cabinet post, effective immediately, for his gross mismanagement of federal economic policy and for his role in the first-ever downgrade of United States debt. "Secretary Geithner assured everyone that raising the debt ceiling without a plan to balance the budget would not result in a downgrade to our debt," Sen. Paul said. "He was clearly wrong. Our debt has been downgraded for the first time in history, and now American taxpayers will have to suffer the consequences"'... http://paul.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=286
Not only should he resign, he should be tarred and feathered, then either drawn and quartered, or hanged. If he were a real man he'd just save us all the trouble and impale himself with with a pitchfork.
Treasury Secretary Geithner Staying Put 'The Obama administration has announced that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner would remain in his post for the time being. Secretary Geithner has let the president know that he plans to stay on in his position at Treasury. He looks forward to the important work ahead on the challenges facing our great country, Treasury Department spokeswoman Jenni LeCompte said.' http://www.cutimes.com/2011/08/08/treasury-secretary-geithner-staying-put
Yeah, because nothing improves investor confidence like a great big helping of uncertainty. Seriously, a Republicans *really* trying to destroy the economy? It sure seems that way. They have no idea what they're doing.
Even midieval serfs didn't have their bowl movements regulated. But at least we have Landru to guide us.
People who name themselves after obscure Star Trek references shouldn't make fun of others. Landru, in Star Trek, was some sort of super-computer that ran the lives of everyone on a planet, "absorbing" individuality (or killing those who could not be absorbed) and running the place into the ground. I really can't think of a better name for someone who wants to be ruled by authoritarian leftists, told what to believe, and whose entire repertoire consists of attempting to ridicule any who hold a different viewpoint than that of his masters.
Geithner's old family buisness City Group is not low enough for him to drift back into the private sector. I suspect he wants to see C bottom out at under $4 per share before he gets offered stock options. If C didn't do a 10x reverse stock split in March when it was at $4.00, the C shares will be selling at under $3.50 today. I guess if Paul wants to grab as many marks as he can before the economy goes down a little more. If I was a t-bagger or republican, I would invest everything in IRAs and other retirement accounts. No big government regulations, no government oversight, and very little (under5%), of the fraud investigations in this sector. Very free market capitalism. Great investment. No need to diversify because retirement accounts have all the different type of investments in them. It's a no brainer for republicans. Easy money for the future, and it meats all the ideology of no "Big Government" involvement. I would max out the IRA contributions every year while I can. It's a win win for the long term. Go republicans and tees.
and he should be shot as well as this (*)(*)(*)(*) behavior continues by our "watchdogs" over the financial sector.http://www.rollingstone.com/politic...wall-street-crimes-20110817?link=mostpopular3
