The only folk who talk about mead are Non-drinkers.Little old ladies and Slavic Gypsies.Anyone who can't afford more than $2.12 per day allotment on booze. Mead is an experiment process.I don't drink experiments. I'm not an alley cat.
What the (*)(*)(*)(*) do you care about who drinks mead and who doesn't? You act like it's some kind of personal insult to you if people drink mead.
LMAO @ beef in the alcohol thread Um, on the real though, you know what's actually pretty good? Mike's Harder Mango Punch... Judge me if you want, but it's good, and it's packs a punch, no pun intended...lol
Show me examples of those in literature drunk from wine. Movies like Cecil B. Demille may try and convince us that Those Romans were drunk in Merriment but it was myth. Y'know like ... urban myth. Like I said ... Liquid doesn't necessarily have to ferment to cause one to feel tipsy. If there was Real Fermented Wine in Moses or Jesus' day,the storytelling would abound about such.
You are very impressive right about now... Where can I get this Sam Jackson Imperial Stout? I love heavy, dark beers, and that sounds like it fits the description...
I learned all I needed to know about Mead when I studied how to be a Homebrewer.I spent about 7 years brewing my own Homebrew. I really tried to get as good as I could. It was hard work.I had success and some failure.I forced myself to Brew a batch 4 times a year.Or every quarter.I had Raspberry Beer with chocolate. I had really nice Brown ales.Yes,I tried honey in my beer. But those are only words. To Brew means to know what it takes to cause fermentation. That is what brewing is.The process of creating fermentation. The more one understands fermentation the more they value standard procedures of acheiving such. Like Ideal fermentation temp.Like the proper yeast { lager or Ale }. Adding yeast at the right time. When you brew beer with a blow off valve you can see the activity {how yeast cells create little bubble popping }.If no little bubble popping then the yeast is inactivate {too cold a room temperature } or there's a stuck fermentation. There are ways to overcome a stuck fermentation. If the yeast used was bad or old then you have to find a way to introduce a fresh yeast. There are Dry yeasts in packets { cheapest } and more expensive liquid pack yeasts. Mead is strickly for little old ladies who want some colorful drink that sounds WAY more impressive than it yields. Just like Hops.Hops are needed to BITTER a beer. Most uninitated don't know that. They think Hops make beer more full.Hops are for Bittering a beer Period. With added aroma with a finishing Hop.
Yes, there is a liquor store near me that sells it, or I think they still do anyway. To be honest, it's been a couple years since I've had it. I'm not nearly the drinker now that I used to be.
