Of all the alternative forms of medicine, it seems like Homeopathy irks the skeptics the most. Why is that? Why does Homeopathy irk you more than any other alternative medicine you think doesn't work?
Any "medicine" that isn't based on the rigorous, tested and peer reviewed Scientific Method is no alternative.. it's snake oil.
Its snake oil.. Look it up and compare it to Osteopathy and Allopathic medicine... Why would you throw up such a silly thread without doing any homework? Are you a teenager?
Because people believe in science, not superstition, and no one in their right mind is going to advance "medicine" that hasn't been proven to be scientifically valid. Homeopathic medicine isn't medicine.. it's a bunch of made up crap that causes people to kill themselves by not seeking scientifically based medicine.
Are you on crack? I know you think it's "snake oil," but my question is, of all the "snake oil" medicines out there, why doesn't Homeopathy irk you skeptics the most? Criminy.
Your OP question is STUPID. It's SELF EVIDENT why people are skeptics geez. Do you understand SELF EVIDENT? Goes in line with COMMON SENSE. The answer to your question is so OBVIOUS that it didn't even need asking.
I think they are all retarded snake oil no matter what you call it. If it isn't based on biological chemistry and rigorously tested and scientifically approved, it's not "medicine" it's a placebo.
We understand fully what your OP is about and I'm dismissing ALL alternative medicine as a placebo, not just homeopathy. It is all bad.
Yes, we are basically saying that all "alternative medicine" is equally retarded. No one is singling out Homeopathy. It is just as retarded as any other alternative medicine.
I disagree. Herbal medicine does have some good points (heck, some pharmaceuticals are based on herbs.) That said, homeopathy is based on absurd theories, and there is no way it can work better than a placebo.
Your original premise is guilty of begging the question. Its fallacy that you've succumb to in the past on this forum. (namely that the official account of 9/11 is predicated on the percentage and location of debris found at a crash site) Please first establish that Homeopathic medicine irks skeptics the most before asking the question why homeopathic medicine irks skeptics the most.
How about you guys give me a list of alternative medicines that don't work since you seem to be at odds. A short list of 5 types or so would be fine.
If they did work then they would no longer be "alternative" medicines, right? Can you give me an example of a medicine you consider "alternative" that also works but has no scientific proof that it works?
I ordered a homeopathic plutonium cure and it had NO (*)(*)(*)(*)ING PLUTONIUM IN IT! Jesus (*)(*)(*)(*)ing Christ what (*)(*)(*)(*)ing a ripoff!
Don't blame me if you don't know what the whole official story is you believe in. It's pretty self-evidence when you go around a look at all the skeptic sites. I haven't seen a single one that hasn't written about Homeopathy. Some skeptic sites that show more articles dedicated to Homeopathy of the specific alternative medicine forms listed: Here's FIVE skeptic sites that in their subject box only have Homeopathy listed of all the alternative medicines: On this skeptic blog, their tag cloud does list a couple of forms of alternative medicine, but guess which of those tags is the largest: There's campaigns against it unlike any other specific alternative medicine: Homeopathy: there's nothing in it http://www.1023.org.uk/ There's $1 million offers against it unlike any other specific alternative medicine: Skeptic Offers $1 Million for Proof Homeopathy Works http://blogs.babble.com/strollerder...-offers-1-million-for-proof-homeopathy-works/ This skeptic sites comes right out and says Homeopathy is evil! Homeopathy Is Evil http://www.skepticmoney.com/homeopathy-is-evil/ The only thread (besides this one) in the Health Care section that singles out an alternative medicine is about Homeopathy: http://www.politicalforum.com/health-care/199268-homeopathy-legitimate-medicine-placebo.html Seems pretty obvious to my skeptics single out Homeopathy more than any other form of alternative medicine they think doesn't work.
