That is the important part. It is always important to get the crowds behind you. Violence does not do that. We have to mantain a sense of right in the way we act to be heard. It was after a march that I got my legs broken by and over zealous cop. I was on my way home when that happened. We have to take all they can dish out and not fight back with violence.

If we don't have our principals what do we have. You have to stand up and be noticed. I bet you are hell on a prostest line. I would have loved to be there with you. Then we could have taken the police car ride together. LOL
Your sister sounds great. She knows her brother well.

I don't dodge an issue. i never have. I am doing what I always do when I find injustice. You find good people that stand with you against it. I have been messaging with the mods and trying to work this out. I love so many people here. I love their ideas and thoughts. I may just post a little less for the next few days as this is worked over and through. It sometimes takes an effort from all of us and me now to point out the flaws in this. I am so happy that we got to be friends. You I find area very special guy. My respect for you grows each time we message and with all of your posts thatI read. Good people are hard to find. When you find them don't let go.

I need to try and work things through in my head> I have sent messages to mods and evryone now. I am not just going to walk away and leve that attitude in tack. If I was alone it would be one thing but 4 women were responding to it. I just don't know about the world anymore. LOL I will find my way in this somehow. I hope you are having a big bright beautiful day!!!!

I think I have done all I can do here as a poster. I have to take some time out. When a certain male poster is allowed to post things within the rules that support rape and say that women ask and want to be raped I have had enough. I sent messages to mods and one logged off. Another one never responded at all. One one of three responded at all. I sent an e mail to the admin and have received no response there either. I reported the post a bunch of times and they tell me it is within the rules.
Support of rape is never inside any rules. It is a blatant disregard for women. I can't ever becomfortable with that. Hugs.

You do just fine. You add a lot to the discussions here. That is important. A few degrees lets me teach but the the time in the world is what helps us to understand life. You understand that and very well. hugs

Yes very rocky my path gets. You can fallinto the potholes they get so deep sometimes. I try and muddle my way through. I think we do a good job. We have survived youth and look at the world with the eyes of experience. We are not older Pres we are better.

Those are great words to live by. Yes to many drag the past with them.

I rose above that stuff as well. But many don't they hang onto much of it. Over the years it thins out. That is not the only place where we allow ourselves to be divided. That is a starter course. It it though.

You are correct a person can't allow themselves to carr the past. Many do.

Your nature and mine and many others here who post have outgrown all of that. There are others that have not done that. It is evident in some of the posts.

I think it has a lot to do with the way we were raised. We get programed at youth and find it hard to break that mould. It holds us tight. If family has a black problem and you listen to the slurrs. If they are anti gay and you here those slurrs. Whatever kind of stuff that has traveled the generations winds up on top of the kids and as they grow they have to sort it out.

For me being lesbian I grew up in a minority and so put away a lot of preconceived notions. My one grand mother was anti gay, She did not know that I was lesbian until one day when she was talking about queers that were arrested and should be put to death.

I asked if she would like me put to death. I was around 13. She laughed and I told her I was a queer. I was not her favourite grand daughter. She treated me like I had plague when she was around.

Kids grow and live there environment. They live the bias and race issues and they carry them until they find out it's wrong.

We do divide by class or money the same way. You can't date him they are poor. You can't date her she is to rich for you.
It's in our own home where this stuff begins. I think.

I think female human works for me. To bad it has to be the whole list of things. Whenever someone outside the norm attains something we have to announce that he or she is black the firsst woman this the first latino. It becomes a drag.

I would love to see one world working together. It is all the little divisions that keep that from happening.

We have the same dream. A world where we are all included free and ready to live. The nature now is to divide. That is that saddest part of life. The Beatles said " Come Together." That would make the journey here so much the better. Being one instead of many. I can only wish. As with wishes though "If they were horses we would all be riding"

My dad was a Marine and was in some of the Pacific battles. He was at Iwo Jima and a few of those type places. It seems like he was the first of our family to go into the service. My mothers side is Russian Lithuanian and my dads side is Irish and German. They were late arrivals in this country. I am only 2nd generation on my moms side and 3rd on my dads side.

I think over the next 50 years this entire world will change. It will become global. I think with the world economies glued together as they are now there will be less and less walls and nation states will begin to unite as Europe is doing. I see Canada the US and Mexico coming together as some point as well. It will be a fun watch as the worth changes.

I was born Jan 1 1952. In NY.

In Nam you had so many problems. Some people didn't want to go but did for the country. There were those that protested the war. They were called draft dodgers. Both sides took a beating on that one.

I protested everything. I have never stopped. My father always told me I was born to make trouble. My brother was in Vietnam. He came back and just never cared to say or do much about it.

My father was in WWII the Pacific battle. He was never for Vietnam nor was he vocal against it. He said that he thought if we were sending boys off to die for something the goal should be to win. He was not a fan of the Vietnam policy.

You did come in with a bang. Thats cool. Lets hope the bang you go out with is not as loud. But I want you to be around a long time so lets not go there.

It is always a good day when we start with a good attitude. No back in the early days of the gay pride movement we had few friends. There was little support for our cause. People all thought we were all just a bunch of perverts and they wanted us in jail. In fact back when I started in the movement we were all subject to arrest. We could even be put in mental institutions. The black movement didn't have that against them. Nor did the anti war people or the women's liberation people. They got in trouble for the protests. We were jailed just for being. We had to change meeting places because we would all go to jail if caught. It was really hard to get that rolling. So many against us. I remember walking down the street abter a pride parade it may have been the first one and I was with my wife Alice and a mother covered her lids eyes so she couldn't see us. Bad Karma in those days.

We seem to be around the same age. I'm 57.

I like the blues as well. I saw Muddy Waters a few times and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Among others.

I was member of the early GLF (gay liberation front) I was a neighborhood voice. I had the idea with other to go door to door with flyers to advertise the first pride parade in NY. It was the first one to be organized but it was the third in the country SF and Chi were first. They were able to get dates sooner and we wanted to be on the anniversary of the riots at Stonewall Inn Bar. The first gay rights protest.

I liked doing the door to door work as well. It gives you a sense of having been mpre a part of the task force. It was pretty tough at times.

If you have a new concept and people agree then you have what could be a great idea. That is cool.

I hope things are good for you today. I did manage to get my utility knife together yesterday. LOL I was putting it together backwards. DUH on me.

I do tend to be a leader. I try and push my issues. Once there are a few on me side then we can become a movement. Movements can change the world. Strong followers are great they do a lot of the difficult work keeping issues in peoples faces.

I don't like to make threads where I get a lot of agreement. They get boring after a bit and than I abandon them to others.

Do you know how to put a utility knife back together?????????

I needed to cut something and the blade was dull so I was going to change it. There is a slide thing in it and I can't get it back in right it jams. (*)(*)(*)(*) it all. LOL Help if you can tell me.
