I want to point out the obvious. Newt is not using the Mormon card but Obama will. Big time.

As soon as it is clear that Romney has locked the nomination, expect the Obama Slime Machine to go into full gear to go after the Mormon Church and smear it.

Expect all the networks to run "educational programs" about the history of the Mormon Church and all the problems it had as it got run out of one state after another because of its polygamy.

We will learn all about Joseph Smith, who had 51 wives and every woman on the farm was his girlfriend, including the wives of other men. Joseph Smith makes Bill Clinton look like the Blessed Virgin Mary in comparison.

We will also hear about the Mormon Church's efforts to oppose same-sex marriage and expect the nastiest elements of the homosexual movement to go into full attack mode. Mormon churches will be vandalized and Mormons will get death threats and there might even be anti-Mormon violence.

This will be the nastiest election since John Adams v. Thomas Jefferson if Romney is the Republican candidate.

    A) Monogamy in this social experiment of United States governed by a few hundred people on one coast is not working out for us, eh?
    B) Women are not valued in the United States. What kind of country paints 6 year olds and sexualizes them to win prizes? How are women portrayed in public, eh?
    C) Virginity is scoffed.
If you have someone who has personally been the husband to one woman, you've found a rarity who has a modicum of self-control.

They have not really poured it on the Mormons as much as they will.

I used to work at a Mormon law firm so I researched their history and it is very dark and strange.

The prophet Joseph Smith was a sex maniac who had sex with women while their husbands worked in the fields. He married women who were still married to other men. He was totally out of control sexually and he makes Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich look like altar boys in comparison.

All of this will come out as every network and the History Channel, Discovery Channel and PBS have "educational programs" about the Mormon Church.

And the homosexuals will attack from the opposite angle, attacking the Mormon Church as an intolerant institution that hates gays and lesbians.

So let me get this straight- you are so concerned about Obama smearing Romney and the Mormon Church that you want to do it first?

Mitt's biggest problem with the 'Mormon' card is with Republican evangilicals- who just happen to believe what you are claiming- that the Mormon Church is really a cult, and that Mormon's really aren't Christians.

This is the reason why Mitt has struggled to gain a clear majority within the Party, and has got to be the only reason why Evangelicals would prefer serial adulterer, who has changed from an evangelical to a Catholic, to a solid family man like Mitt Romney.

You can expect that if Mitt Romney is on the ballot, that Obama will be more respectful of Romney's religion than the religious right has been- or will.

Wrong. Obama is a veteran of bareknuckle Chicago politics. He will go after Romney with everything he's got.

I don't base my vote on someone's religion......I would vote a scientologist into office if they kept their personal beliefs to themselves and focused on what was best for the nation as a whole.

You are right in every aspect, but there is also the good chance that will backfire on them. The public is getting pretty tired of negativism in politics. When you are tightening your belt because of a bad economy, someone's religion is not at the front of your daily thoughts. I am sure there have been experts working for Romney for months now to combat that if it comes up. I sincerely hope the American people don't fall for this.

You are missing the other little fun fact about Mormons history. The belief was that Blacks had sided with the Lucifer and whites with Jesus when they had their disagreement of who was to be Gods favorite child. And brown people where neutral in the fighting. I mean if the Obama camp and liberals are going to go after anything about the history of LDS, I bet they go more for the race baiting over polygamy.

Here we go. The plan all along. That is why the democrats claimed they were not happy about a Romney candidacy. They lied. THey are delighted and they've got their hits all ready to go. There will be no romney presidency. There will be four more horrid years of Obama from which i am not sure we will ever be able to recover from.

Well, to be fair, having Romney as POTUS is still like having Obama policy wise.

And Newt Gingrich makes Mitt Romney look like the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I think any attempts to paint Mitt with the 'sin's of his grandfather will be met by photo's of Mitt with his (first and only) wife and their happy family. Now compare that to Newt- who has had 3 wives and who knows how many girlfriends, and is on his third religion. Newt running with his baggage against Obama- with Obama's example of good family values- is my dream Republican candidate. Obama's super pac's will be reminding every wife, and ex- wife in America about Gingrich's cheating past, and how bitter his ex-wives are.

You seem pretty excited about this prospect. However, history shows us differently. Even during the same-sex marriage campaign in California, heavily and publicly funded by the LDS, Mormon churches were not vandallized by 'homosexuals' gone wild and there was no 'anti-Mormon violence. Homosexuals are well aware of the history of the Mormon church, and might well vote accordingly.

Of course if Newt is running- well they will probably vote accordingly also.

The one message I get reading your post over again is this:

You are pretending concern about what the Democrats will do, while you smear the Mormon Church yourself. The most vocal opponents I have heard of to the LDS are strident evangelical christians like yourself.

I think it is as likely that evangelical Christians would vandalize Mormon churches or incite violence against them, as homosexuals. Probably even more likely.

But one cannot smear a person over their ancestry. Romney didn't engage in polygamy. In fact, he's been married a long, long time to one woman. Senator Harry Reid is Mormon....so let's see how they justify going after Romney over his religion, but never Reid??

If Obama elects to go that route, he'll be making a huge mistake.

Romney is the nearest thing to a chance at the presidency the Republicans have got. The rest horrify the average voter too much.

Proof? I have yet to see Democrats in Massachusetts or elsewhere use that as a trump card.

Significantly, Southern Republican Evangelicals have and continue to do so. Are you suggesting they will be pulling for President Obama in Autumn?

After surviving eight years with a lying, warmongering scumbag like GW Bush at the helm, four more years of Obama should be a breeze...They're all just puppets anyway....Relax and enjoy the show folks...
