Yeah, the popping of an over inflated housing bubble will do that. Those prices aren't going back up for a long time, nor should they.

Compared to were were in 2008, overall, progress has been made. Its literally impossible to deny.

Indeed, that's what the blog article claimed, but the content seemed to contradict that.

Oddly enough, I don't think I ever claimed the economy was remarkable. Could you should were I did?

That's really beside the point, isn't it.
You said I never claimed that Michelle Obama said the economic recovery has been "remarkable". That's demonstrably a lie.

And yours seems to consist of denying the points you've already conceded. Post number seven. You have an extremely short and selective memory, don't you.
"Where have I ever said otherwise? Where have I ever said he did even a decent job with the economy?

It's important to keep in mind that Liberals who post
here at Political Forums will never truly own up to the entire truth.
Because they can't.it would actually hurt them.Like a pain in
the neck or shoulder. They physically are incapable of being too
honest.Maybe it's not their fault. They've trained themelf to act that
    way.

That is not quite all that she said now, is it?

    Okay. you stated this.

You failed to support this assertion, as I never agreed with you on that topic.

Arguing in denial doesn't work for rational Americans.
    Who are you talking to.?

Did any one see Doug Elmendorf's testimony before Congress today? He's the head of the CBO. He said the economy is years away from recovery.

Imo the economy is sputtering. After the election it is likely Greece will default. That will set off a series of falling dominoes in Europe that will spill over here because the big banks will be taken down.

Obama may be reelected, but this country is in deep shyst. Intellectual honesty requires that one not lie to one's self.

Too late. I conceded long ago, my first post on the issue, that some progress has been made.
But our growth has been anemic, at best. And it's all been because of Obama's absolute economic incompetence.

As I pointed out his latest trillion dollar proposal to spend money we don't have to keep people in homes they can't afford is exhibit A in this regard.

Oddly enough you only prop up the people, like Michelle Obama, that do. Is there any substantive difference there? No! There isn't.

Now look at the recovery from 2009, pretty significant.

Add to that external factors, like the housing market hangover, the Japan earthquake and european financial crisis, all things that would hurt economic growth, it is "some" remarkable growth.

Look at the Bush growth and subract 1% from his GDP numbers because his GDP growth has been estimated to have been inflated by 1% due to $5 Trillion in home equity being withdrawn and pumped into the economy and the Obama years look even better. Remarkable might be a little strong, but decent is certainly true.

Do you think Obama will be reelected? Do you think that the Democrats will retain control of the Senate? Do you think Democrats will take control of the House?

Unless you are able to answer all three questions in the affirmative, any second term Obama may have will be a failure. You have to run the table.

None of the conservatives want to explain why they keep saying Michelle Obama is arrogant. Or Barack, for that matter.

When they refuse to give a reason for their claim, they make it kind of obvious. They think like Rush, and want to use the word Rush used, but shame holds them back.

Go ahead, Michelle-haters. Don't be afraid. Use the "u" word. You know you want to. Let your true feelings flow.

The way things are going with these cons, running the table might not be so remote. Regardless, Obama now knows how to deal with the obstructionistas and won't have any problem getting things done for America. But thanx for your concern.

Not one thing will be accomplished unless Democrats win all power. Failure to win everything means Obama will be stymied.

I don't think obama is arrogant. I think he's a shyster lawyer who is inexperienced in management. He's learning on the job. That can't be denied. Would you hire a doctor who was learning on the job?

Let's don't forget she's talking to a group of people who don't mind that gas is nearly $4 a gallon or millions of well-educated Americans can't find jobs in their field and are losing their homes to foreclosure. It's no skin off their noses... they've got theirs, why pay homage to those poor saps who are struggling?

Between Michelle & Valerie, no doubt one wipes Barack's butt while the other wipes his nose. He's such a wimp.

The fact that the word "progress" is in there at all is an insult to our intelligence. As noted in the WSJ today.

"Commerce Department data released last Friday show that four years after the recession began, real gross domestic product per person is down $1,112, while 5.8 million fewer Americans are working than when the recession started.

Never before in postwar America has either real per capita GDP or employment still been lower four years after a recession began. If in this "recovery" our economy had grown and generated jobs at the average rate achieved following the 10 previous postwar recessions, GDP per person would be $4,528 higher and 13.7 million more Americans would be working today. "

Is the economy better than it was a year ago? Two years ago? Certainly the indication are that the economy is improving.

Now has it made "remarkable progress"? Of course not, but then agian that is not quite what Michelle Obama said, and she also stated that we are still in rough shape.

So what was the inaccuracy here?
