They registered so that they could be confiscated in the event of a public need.

The Founders had a very different idea about gun ownership that what the right and NRA portray them to have felt.

I also agree with that. I, personally would not actually have one.

Sotomayor and Kagan have a history of anti-gun sentiment.

I am not willing to trade one regulation for another. Guns should have always been allowed in National Parks.

An excellent read, I couldn't put it down. I believe I finished it in three sittings.

You're not paying attention. You already said that, and I replied that your SAYING this does not automatically make it so.

Then your stance is an unreasonable one. When you bring the verb "should" into your argument, you tilt your position into a very subjective stance and inevitably away from a logical position. Pity.

Quite right, but it IS so.

Also, saying that the long gun regulation doesn't really matter is subjective too.

    Simple solution

If you do not like guns then do not buy one

You should know better than that by now, friend. When you refer to a historical fact to support your position, as you did, then it behooves you to post a source. Simple.

You did not, and apparently CANNOT. I am only surprised that you would not require more facts before you form your opinions.

I didn't say that it doesn't "matter". I DID say this:
"Hardly a restrictive regulation, friend. You could easily offset that regulation with his signing into law the lifting of restrictions on carrying guns in national parks. Even Steven."

When you claim, as you did, that President Obama has a "war on the Second Amendment", and can only show one very narrow restriction that can easily be offset with another law he signed that actually expanded gun rights, then your argument becomes weak and inconsequential.

That might be a solution if I had claimed to not like guns. Unfortunately for you, I did not. It's a rather poor solution anyways. By YOUR logic, the solution to those who don't like abortions is simply for them not to have one. I somehow doubt this would be sufficient for most Pro-Lifers.

This cracks me up! I remember everyone running out and buying guns and ammo when he took office (I have a Glock and one box which I've had for years).
He'll come and take your guns away! Buy now! Panic in the streets! He's preparing the Rangers to take over! Martial Law! Panic people panic!

And what did he do? Nothing.

Too funny to watch the hysterics.

I have posted the evidence that the Obama Administration and the two SCOTUS Justices that I have mentioned are anti-gun/anti-Second Amendment. You will have to go back thru several threads yourself.

Their comments, actions and voting records speak for themselves.

I am afraid you are too far up the rear end of Obama to bring back to facts and reality.

Hopefully, he never will, however, his voting record and attitude toward guns does not give one a fuzzy feeling that he respects the Second Amendment.

If he gets re-elected (hopefully not), we'll see.

I'd rather be on the safe, cautious side, than be caught with my pants down.

This has a lot more to do with freedoms in general, and not just gun control:

Well that's a bit more rational than the OP. There is nothing to worry about at all. The second amendment is safe and sound as it was the day before he took office and every flew into the gun stores to stock up.... for nothing.

I disagree. The Second Amendment is riding on a 5/4 SCOTUS voting record. Heller and McDonald were decide by 5/4 votes. One more lib on the bench, and much can be reversed.

Okay now I'm curious! What exactly could be reversed?

The Heller and McDonald decisions. All future Second Amendment cases would go the wrong way.

I HAVE gone back and you never did post ANY evidence concerning the two justices' opinions on the RKBA. I have already shown your so-called "evidence" concerning our President's intentions to be very wanting of substance.

Please don't resort to untruths. I'm sure you can do better.

Thank you for posting that. I actually sat through the entire speech and all I can say is "wow"! It was one big Appeal to Fear fallacy!

Now I see where you get your irrational opinions from.

Am I the only one who saw the false indignation and the inconsistent position he advances by railing about the "needless deaths" from gun trafficking into Mexico while condemning an international treaty that would attempt to get a handle on this very same type of gun trafficking? A very small man indeed.
