This lawsuit was filed against Maher on November 9th, 2004 and was dismissed 6-months later, in May 2005. The allegations were shown to be false and the case was dismissed.

Not sure, perhaps it was the OP who missed the fact that the frivolous case against Maher was was dismissed in May 2005, shortly after it was originally filed in late 2004.

This thread is the prime example of the sheer desperation that our friends on the right are dealing. They're actually digging up dismissed allegations and tossed lawsuits in a last-ditch attempt to prop up their narrative against Maher.

Suit wasn't thrown out on the merits it was thrown out because California no longer has a remedy for what she was complaining about, which is breach of promise to marry.

To be fair to the OP, the orginal story was from 2004, and if the case was tossed out in 2005, then it wouldn't have been on the OP's source.

Maher didn't abuse anyone, as evidenced by the fact that the judge immediately tossed the frivolous suit in 2005. These were trumped up allegations by a disgruntled ex-girlfriend, and the Court didn't buy the wheelbarrow of excrement she was pushing.

If you are in possession of evidence that proves otherwise however, feel free to provide it. Something tells me this challenge will go ignored. Now prove me right, and provide nothing.

 

Maybe if he took a little time to to do some research he would have known it was dismissed 7 years ago. Rather than do that he probably picked it up from the Freeper forum that had a similar post yesterday.

The OP clearly failed to do his research before creating this thread. He obviously had no idea that the charges were filed nearly a decade ago, and he clearly had no idea that the charges were dismissed and the allegations were proven false.

It'll be interesting now to see how the OP plays this out, now that he's thoroughly embarrassed himself.

 

The charges were not dismissed on the merits, they were dismissed because California does not have a cause of action for breach of contract to marry.

Dismissal of a lawsuit does not mean innocence.

Was Maher arrested for battery or assault? No.

Was Maher convicted criminally of batter or assault? No.

Not only was Maher exonerated by the Court which threw out the frivolous suit, but the disgruntled ex-girlfriends trumped up charges were without merit, evidence, and substance. This is why Maher was never charged, arrested, or convicted criminally for anything.

When relationships fail, these kinds of things happen. Disgruntled parties will try to sue each other, especially when one of the parties (Maher) is a wealthy individual. The fact that you appear to be oblivious to this, only highlights your cartoonish bias and partisan gimmicky.

You know, it's one thing to criticize Maher for his viewpoints or things that actually did, but you choosing to go down this route is simply embarrassing that you have literally--nothing else to go with.

 

Guilty people are not always charged. You should know that.
