    YouTube is a privately owned entertainment site with every right to censor anything they don't like. As are most .com sites.

    The only way barackobama.com could post such a self-promoting piece of fluff with class would have been to disable comments. But then they wouldn't have the opportunity to manipulate the results and pass along propaganda -- and we know how much they like doing that. *koff jobs created koff*

    It's a dog eat dog world out there in politics land but it sure is fun watching the Dems chasing their own tails. Round and round and round they go... where they stop, nobody knows. :spin:

    The original premise in your OP was that the Obama campaign was censoring comments on youtube.

    Obviously that turned out to not be true..

    No, it's clearly true. I have placed 3 comments for approval, and not one has appeared. My comments were extremely measured; polite, and offered an alternative view.

    None have been posted.

    You can be sure that is a priori evidence of censorship. Effective counterpoints are being suppressed.

    This has been going on for about a year.It was brought to my attantion when
    viewing Alex Jones on YouTube.Jones is not my favorite person on the
    radio but he does do extensive Research and has on occasional guests
    like Pat Buchanan and Phyliss Schafly.Both highly trusted Conservatives.
    Google is in Bed with this Adm.Like G.E. which owns and controls NBC
    therfore sister flag MSNBC.Cass Sustein,an Obama secret Czar is the
    one secretly implimenting a gradual takeover of the Internet and what better
    place than THE Most viewed site or YouTube.
    YouTube has been taking down very selectively material unfairly.
    Just recently there was a purge of stuff like Music or song material.
    Probably to make for an easy excuse that it regulates all kinds of
    material not just controversial or Political.

    The premise in the Op was that the Obama campaign was somehow, magically censoring Youtube comments. Given that the comments that were posted were both positive and negative, it would appear that premise is not accurate.

    I have no interest in discussing your posts on there.

    Of course it's misleading propagandizing. But people (Obama supporters) are stupid enough that they don't realize that he deletes unfavorable comments. I just find it hilarious that Republicans are screaming about censorship, as if they want the government to step in and tell YouTube that they aren't allowed to let their users delete comments on their own videos because it's a violation of "freedom of speech". Which is more proof that they don't favor small government.

    The president deletes unfavorable comments about him on Youtube?

    If I may point out two things here.

    That seems highly unlikely, if it is even possible. Somehow I doubt the president spends time scrolling through Youtube and deleting unfavorable comments. However, I am a man with an open mind, so if you have a shred of actual evidence to support your statement i will review it and reexamine my position.

    Next, given that there remains both positive and negative comments,. it would appear that there was no "censorship" going on.

    If it is their video, why should they?

    Anyone can post a "response" video and allow comments if they want. No one is really being censored.

    Yeah, I think we've established the fact barackobama.com is PERFECTLY ENTITLED TO DELETE NEGATIVE COMMENTS.

    They're also entitled to post their own comments and pretend they came from Joe Citizen.

    The only question remaining is this... how far are they willing to go to make Obama look as good as possible?

    I'd say they'll stop at nothing to make it appear he's the only choice we have in November. So far, they're doing a good job of setting up the facade.

    Doesn't it completely boil down to Youtube's fine print? I mean if it's a message board posted on your front door, it's your property and you have the right to remove anything you like. If it's Youtube's property and they allow uploaders to remove unwanted comments, it's the same thing, it's their right.

    ...just like all the other millions of YouTube posters, heh heh. It isn't like Obama is the first to do that.

    If they are really censoring comments it wont matter anyway. Response videos will pop up and the comments will go there instead. Like I said, Obama could not really censor anyone whether he wants to or not. It's a private site.
