so youre saying the woman in the OP would not buy insurance instead of sticking us with her bills even with obamacare?

then she would be paying a fine....but I guess you dont want her to pay at all right?

That gobbledygook makes no sense. Here's the deal. Obama is making right wing jackasses like this guy take some personal responsibility...

    Ridiculous and frankly indefensible.

And do you think her fine covers her medical bills?

Again..look at the $80,000,000,000,000.00 hole known as Medicare and buy a clue......

Paying $2000 to cover $100,000 in medical bills = Responsibility?

I think it covers more than the ZERO she paid instead.

tell me why you think the woman in the OP is justified making me pay for her healthcare instead of buying insurance?

No idea what strawman you are talking about. I was referring to this right wing jackass...

I'm sure we would all love to go out and buy new shiny things for ourselves but part of being an ADULT is taking some personal responsibility and getting health insurance, even if you have to drive around in a car that is a few years old. I know, the horror!

For the same reason you feel its justified for Obama and Democrats to steal from "other Americans" to give away Free Health Insurance to 30 million Americans who arent contributing a dime.

From the guy who thinks the $80,000,000,000,000.00 hole known as Medicare is the path to a great and affordable health care system.......

........when your sitting in your own feces for months at a time......you know socialized health care has arrived.

America is going to adopt socialized healthcare, you best get used it and accept it. America as a whole hates private insurance and an overwhelming majority demands socialized healthcare.

Profits=evil when it comes to health insurance.

Awesome. The businessweek quote appeared on page one of this thread. We are now four pages deep and no one can muster any kind of defense for this irresponsible right winger.

That's *********s for you. "I like shiny new things." How can anyone defend this type of behavior? Is that all you've got? Idiotic snarky remarks about feces? How about addressing the FIRST POST of the thread? I think that's not too much to ask on page 4.

So he discharged his debt through the means of bankruptcy, where, presumably, the judge evaluated his ability to pay some or all of it back on some payment plan. Therefore, you argue, he should be support attempts to take away his right to manage his finances and decide his healthcare costs versus other priorities and give that all over to government bureaucrats.

It's a matter between he and his creditors, and since he wasn't able to satisfy the demands of his creditors, that is good reason, to you, to take away responsibility and rights from everyone.

Lots of people declare bankruptcy for a myriad of reasons every day. Yes, forcing everyone who can afford it to buy health insurance and pay the premiums for those who can't would have kept the American people experiencing this particular bankruptcy. The argument could be made that the extra that's going to be paid to cover everyone is more than what these individual bankruptcies cost, but that's another thread.

So, yes, this particular bankruptcy could have been avoided. Are you arguing that it's the government's job to protect the general public from the cost of bankruptcy? If we're going to be forced to pay the government to protect us from someone who can't afford their medical bills by paying those bills for them, should we also be forced to pay the government to protect us from someone who can't afford their mortgage by paying that mortgage for them? How about forcing us to pay to protect ourselves from people who can't afford their car payments by making those payments for them?

Keep in mind that declaring bankruptcy is not a painless process. You can be forced to pony up most of your assets in an attempt to pay off your creditors. You can also forget about getting a loan for a significant period of time.

You're giving the impression that this person is laughing all the way to the bank, which I'm sure that they certainly are not.

we pay extra because of those choices....

theres no right to gamble with someone elses money, and how does it take away responsiblity to tell people they ahve be responsible for pay a penalty to cover the cost if they arent?

Would you like to explain this statement? Exactly how will we the American people be stuck with the lady's medical bills because she filed bankruptcy? Was she being treated by a taxpayer-funded medical team or what???

Your arguments are ridiculous. In reality, only if Obamacare passes will taxpayers be strapped with other people's medical bills.

Do you think shoplifting drives up costs for consumers?

An ironic statement. Sometimes instead of people running their "smart mouths" they should shut them, listen, and think. It would really help them to avoid almost constant embarrassment.

Depending on whose figures you follow, that means ObamaCare will cost the taxpayer anywhere between 2 to 4 times as much money.

That's a helluva a bargain for surrendering your constitutional rights, isn't it?
