We have heard this before. What stopped him in 2009 and 2010 when the Democrats controlled Congress with a virtual super majority?

Sadly for Latino's it wasn't even brought up till Nov or Dec 2010 AFTER the Democrats lost their huge majority in Congress. Yet....there he goes again.

Obama 2012: “I can promise that I will try to do it in the first year of my second term,”

Obama 2008: ""I cannot guarantee that it is going to be in the first 100 days. But what I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill".

Latino's should be angry with Obama, not so much for breaking his 2008 promise, but because he obviously thinks they are dumb enough to fall for it again so soon. What a giant backhand across the face of ALL Latino's. He know it's simply not getting past the all Republican controlled Congress starting in 2013. He must think Latino's didn't notice when the Democrats had a super majority in 2009 and 2010 it was never even brought up till it was a pandering afterthought. Somehow I doubt they are buying that boat load of bull a second time. If Obama talks about it on the campaign trail, they need to tell him to do it BEFORE the election if he wants their votes.

What a pathetic joke Obama and Co. are. Now Obama is "promising" Latino's something no one in their right mind would seriously think would ever happen just to get their vote. How pathetic.

He should be making a racial reconciliation speech any day now. As I recall yesterday he said the only way to get immigration reform is to get Republicans out of Cingress or make them chenge their mind so I assume he'll be making a speech on bipartisanship soon.

It never crosses the man's mind that he can possibly, ever, be wrong.

If pandering, hypocricy and self serving lies were misdemeanors, Obama would be looking at life without parole

Can anyone believe what this guy says anymore after all his broken campaign promises?

I'm sure the democrats will lap it up however. I highly doubt the independents are gonna fall for it again though.

Obama is on his way out :)

He had a virtual super majority in 2009 and 2010 and didn't do it then. How much more disingenuous could he be by making this claim now?

Well he was totally obsessed with wrecking the health care system, so that didn't leave time for much else.

On the other hand, an Obama second term will have more "flexibility" so who knows what they'll try to get away with?

Look at Obama, dangling that carrot in front of the faces of his idiotic supporters. They'll buy it, too. They always do.

What did you expect? He spent all of his political capital buying and lying for ObamaCare votes.

With the guy, who lost to the guy, who lost to Obama in 2008, there isn't much chance of him getting the boot. We need to concentrate on 19 more seats in the House and 13+ in the Senate to neuter Obama's agenda.

All you need is to add about 6 Senate seats, though it would be simpler. With Reid out as the leader, he could no longer be making promises for their vote and there will be plenty of Blue Dog Dem's, to prevent a filibuster on unlikely bills, in the first place. Head of the Senate can pretty much table anything they want.

In fairness though, something is going to HAVE to be done, if this economy does turn for the better. Mexico's economy doesn't seem to be improving and their population will soon become desperate.

People have been whining about immigration since 1620 when the second boat landed at Jamestown. The only people ever wanted here were black Africans. They built a whole industry around getting more of them. Some even fought a war in order to get more.

Both parties made a big deal over immigration policies in the early 20th Century. They tried to keep the Asians out. During WWI they imported Caribbean blacks to work the farms in the South. And during WWII they imported Mexicans. They had tried to kick them out before WWII and tried to kick them out after it ended.

So since this has been an issue for 390 years I doubt if anyone will solve it soon.

He could have done this in the first term if he tried, but this is just another campaign lie.

    ah...

I seem to recall he promised that in 08. And he said he would go over the budget "line by line" and get rid of the programs that weren't working anymore. I guess he'll be promising that again soon too.]

Translation of Obamaspeak: "We've held off positive voter ID as long as we can, with ridiculous claims about imaginary people who "have no ID', or "can't get an ID", so get the hell out there and vote as many times as you can !!! Then I'll just make all illegals LEGAL, and turn you onto INSTANT FREE HOUSING , EDUCATION, HEALTHARE, WELFARE $$ and FOODSTAMPS..."

I believe I'm with you as far as his promise to the Latin community, but I don't think that people who run for President of the United States (or any public office, for that matter) are predisposed to the idea of ever being wrong.
