Good for the AZ Appeals Court. We need a national voter ID law that requires legal photo ID in order to vote in any election. Protecting the integrity of our voting system is paramount. If our government requires ID to get into see our public officials, why wouldn't it follow we need ID to vote for those same people?

Good decision. In no way does that prevent anyone from voting as Liberals have been trying to say.

It's just a return to Jim Crow days. No big thing.

That's just the way certain folks see it, not the reality. There is nothing wrong with requiring that voters be legal citizens, or doing what can be done to ensure that voting is done legally.

    True.

In Arizona for instance the mean old whites are going to make illegal aliens from Mexico ride at the back of the bus and drink at separate-but-equal water fountains in the desert after they sneak across the border.

I'm sorry but it does no such thing. There is nothing racial or repressive about it as many Liberal like to say. If your old, you needed an ID to get Social Security. If your poor and on welfare, you needed an ID to draw it. Having an ID doesn't make your life harder, it makes it easier. Heck, you can't have a bank account, or cash a check without one. You can't go out of the country, fly on a plane, rent a car or even get a book from a library without one. How does a poor person pay his electric, phone, or gas bills? It would cost 3-4 times as much to take a bus for a month as it would cost to get an ID. An ID makes your life simpler, not harder as Liberal would like to make you believe. What it will do is help keep people from voting that are not allowed to vote and that my friend is the main reason the Democratic Party is against it.

If you want to even get in the door at Holder's DOJ, you'll need your photo ID. What's your point?

I'll welcome each state doing that on their own.

GREAT! Finally some sanity in this insane world!

You need an ID to cash a check, to apply for everything, to buy a car and to drive one...you need an ID to travel (unless you jump fences), you need an id to get on an airplane or a boat...requiring one for a voter is not a big deal, it should be natural.

Even a third world sewer like mexico has had voter-photo ID. Only people in america who oppose it are democrats who want illegals voting.

The Democratic Party knows this doesn't put a hardship on the old and poor. They have brainwashed their people to think it does. If people would only put some thought into it, they would see it makes peopl'e life easier, not harder. The only thing it makes harder, is for people to vote that have no right to do so.

Because the REAL ID Law if there are many otherwise lawabiding CITIZENS that are now without an ID, this then takes away the right afforded to them in the US Constitution to vote. The right to vote not a privilege this is not driving a car, banking or cashing a check its the right to do an obligation of a citizen poor or rich. If you take away that right then you lose all credibility to compel people in a draft to fight in a war or anything else. Laws like this should not take precedent over the right to vote if disenfranchised by poverty, lack of ease to get the needed document (one might lack a residence, not have a birth certificate and so forth) to get the Real ID backed ID card.

So what if you can't get an ID card? And are a citizen even if poor? I for one would rather risk some fraud then to take away a right at this level and finding alternatives to this approach that might work.

If things were as you seem to want them, practically anyone could vote. Is that what you want? Not me. I want to ensure that we fix this problem now before it becomes an even greater problem in the future.

We're talking about the process in which we select our leader for God's sake. I'd like for that process to be as air tight and fraud proof as possible.

If even one illegal fraudulent vote cancels out the legitimate vote of a proper citizen, then we need voter ID.

If you are a citizen of the US, yes you have a right to vote. But how does one know that he/she is a US citizen? Shouldn't they have to establish that fact? Especially with over 12 million illegals in this country. If your a citizen and worked and paid into Social Security, you have a right to draw it. But do you think they are going to just give it to you without proving who you are?

Poverty is no excuse for not having an ID. If your that poor, your getting welfare or other government assistance and you can't get that without an ID.

The States are depriving people of their voting rights and equal rights under the 14th Amendment by imposing capricious requirements to vote for national federal offices. Consequently Congress can write a law to bring them into compliance. Expect to see it fairly soon.

Is that a fair description of the requirement that one have proof of their citizenship as a condition of voting?

Would you please point out what you call capricious requirements?
