My atheist co-worker: "I only believe in one less god than you" My evangelical friend: "God and I comprise the majority" My faith can be summed up like this: "You are my proof that God lives" So how about you? Can you state your beliefs in 10 words or less?
"Respect all. Question all. Progress, innovate, and succeed." These are virtues I try to live by as well as believe in.
There's more to life than what you see. Answer me this honestly, Wyrd. Do you think you would have believed in germs or radiation before science showed them to you? Technological advancement did not cause them to suddenly spring into existence. They had always been there. We were just unaware of their existence until we were able to perceive them.
If a god of any kind actually exists then it should come forth in all its glory and majesty and announce itself. We know, or should know, that gods like Zeus, Odin, Set, Baal, and thousands of others were imaginary. So why should we think that gods like Allah, Siva, Jehovah, or Jesus are real? Are they all real or is just a person's favorite the only real one? If Jesus was still wiggling on the cross after 2,000 years you might be able to say that he is a god, or at the least, a very unique life form. But he isn't, and therefore he's just like the thousands of other dead gods. They were all imaginary.
I know that all gods are imaginary because not one of any kind has ever appeared to humanity. And just because some con man claims to be a god or has spoken to a god doesn't make it so. Therefore, any god that you can envision is imaginary because you have never seen an entity that might be a god. And if an entity with magical powers was to appear this very second it still wouldn't necessarily make it a god. It could simply be a monkey from another planet sent to test the aliens' space travel technology.
one time I heard Bill O'Reilly sum up his faith something like this... "I believe in God because there aren't people with arms growing out of their heads walking into walls"
