Hats off to the Agonist for picking up on this. The lack of people like this is why I have no respect whatsoever for most of the worlds churches.
This has to do with churches how? Because they don't take all the homeless in and put them where? Or are you wanting more church people to live like this lady did?
Hopefully she'll be able to point out the BS laws and treatment the homeless deal with. I doubt anything will happen because god forbid we allow homeless people the ability to sleep in a public area at night, but that's the kind of BS it seems she's pointing out. Good to hear, though I doubt it will change anything.
From the Las Vegas Times Dictionary: Bible: n A holy tome which tells people four things: 1. There is one God and He is not found in a church. 2. Don’t judge others, focus on your own path. 3. Love and tolerate everyone. Especially those you might be tempted to look down upon or called your enemies. 4. Don’t go around hurting or murdering each other. Really, it’s not very nice and God doesn’t like it. The result of man’s interpretation of this book has been: 1. The belief that God can only be found in a church – and it must be the right one. 2. The condemnation by members of one church, of others who do not go to the same church. 3. A self-righteousness and judgmental intolerance of anyone deemed “sinful” by those who consider their own sins to be of superior quality and 4. The Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, KKK, bombing of planned parenthood centers, and the election of Conservative politicians.
Witness. Christ spent his time with the lowest of the low, not gallivanting around in the perfumed halls of the rulers. Wish there were a few more Christians around like this lady.
