Australia has a large Vietnamese popultion. Traditionally they vote Liberal (Australia's version of the Republicans). Most of the Vietnamese are ancestors of South Vietnamese who came here as refugees after the fall of Saigon.

It depends on if you're talking about legal or illegal immigration. If we have another amnesty of 12 million or so, that means that the US has had effectively no immigration policy since the 1960's. As those new amnesty people become citizens, they'll bring in millions more through chain immigration; all of them ultimately dependent on law breaking and avoiding cops in order to get what they wanted. Imagine the political culture we would have in 50 years if much of the voting population depended on law breaking in order to even be here? They would be perfect Democratic voters! And we would never again be able to control our borders because the constituency in the US who benefited from it would be a large one.

Legal immigration... eh not that much difference.

2) No, I'm comparing it to the TSA (an unconstitutional and rights-violating agency created by Republican President George W. Bush), Department of Homeland Security (again, unconstitutional rights-violating agency created by - you guessed it - G.W. Bush), CIA drones (Bush again), USA PATRIOT Act (Bush again), NDAA (Republicans voted against the amendments that would remove the unconstitutional rights-violating bits - interestingly enough, Democrats voted for those amendments), etc.

 

After Reagan showed the world what Conservatism is about, people continued to vote conservative for the next 28 years. He won Re-election, Bush won the next election, Perot and Bush got MORE votes than Clinton (conservatism won), In the next Election Clinton won over Dole, who supported Raising taxes (Conservatism Won). In the next two elections W Won. Even Obama won by sounding conservative. He said in his first term he'd cut the deficit in half and promised a bigger tax cut than McCain. People are not stupid. They're not going to forget this experiment by the Democrats where you grow the Government MASSIVELY and have massive levels of failure everywhere. People will realize again that Conservatism must be adhered to, and anytime they stray away from that, they will have lessons like this handed to them. I'm not worried. If a Dominican like me can become a Hard Core Conservative, there is still hope for us.
