Wrong. It most certainly has been in effect.

obamacare went into effect September 2010. Some of the items that you may have heard about - parents can keep children up to 26 years old on their health care, insurers cannot drop coverage except for fraud, no life time limit on coverage, free preventative care services (such as mammogram), cannot deny insurance due to pre-existing conditions, seniors get a rebate for the medication donut hole, insurers must spend at least 85% of premiums on coverage, and more. Most are popular and were phased in early to provide a false impression that only good will come of obamacare. These benefits are a major reason premiums have been going up so much.

In 2013 and 2014 (notice its after the election, dems didnt want people to see behind the curtain too early), the real cost drivers begin to show up. A 3.2% "medicare" tax on home sales, a 2.3% tax on medical equipment manufacturers, a mandatory $1 per month fee for abortion services (all must pay, male, female, pro-life, it doesn't matter), an annual fee on insurance providers, 40% excise fee on people with "too much" insurance or cadillac plans. Companies will begin making the decision to provide insurance that meets the obamacare requirements or drop insurance, pay the cheap $2,000 fine, and dump people onto the govt plan.

But there was one big slip-up, in 2012 funding for Medicare Advantage was to be slashed and diverted to obamacare, but to avoid pissing off the seniors obama illegally shifted funds from HHS to Medicare Advantage to hide the cut until after the election.

There is plenty more, if you care to take the time to look it up.

You don't believe that corporate bureaucrats decide what your ins policy will and will not cover? Or is it that you don't believe corporate bureaucrats decide which treatments are "best" for you?

A single payer system is simply a government controlled health insurance system.

Right now, my health insurance company can according to the policy I have, refuse to pay for certain perscription medicines- I can't get them unless I am willing to pay the full(not group discount) cost of the medicine.

Under a single payer system, if a government bean counter told me he wasn't paying for my perscription it would be exactly the same thing.

And that is how it works in Canada- which has a single payer system.

Of course they do, but none of that contradicts anything I said.

No it wouldn't, because the government can forbid the sale of any medicine by a non-governmental entity in the country, which an insurance company cannot.

Please, stop exaggerating. It's generally disgusting. The USSC did its job. You don't have to agree with the ruling, but don't be hyped-up and ridiculous about it.

I DESPISE the ruling on Citizens United; but I know that what they did was "Constitutional"... just as it is on the Affordable Care Act.

Bottom line, the American people will in due time make changes to laws and/or mitigate problems as they see fit.

Yes, you can if you know the details. I know that Drano, for example, will kill me if I swallow it. I don't need to try it to understand that I won't like the effects. Obamacare, however, isn't my problem anymore. Regardless now of whether it is repealed or not the SCOTUS has made a horrible ruling that will last far off into the future when creating policy. This is what the short-sighted Republicans cannot grasp to save their own lives (literally).

They're like Mitt. First they were against the SCOTUS giving it the pass, then they were for it if it would put Mitt Romney in office--which is really detestable of them that they would sell their kids out for a stupid Republican candidate--and now they have a short-lived victory dance until November.

While the rest of us who aren't drunk off partisan kool aid and have even a base rudimentary understand of how a SCOTUS ruling can affect future law and policy are crying in our cups.

We can now be forced to buy something or pay a tax penalty. So cheer away Repugnuts, cheer away. I would say that I can't wait to see it turn around and bite you on your asses, but unfortunately my ass is on the block with you.

Really? I've not heard that from a leftist before. So you regard Citizens United as decided correctly by the Court, even if you disagree with it?

Well, "Constitutional" is in quotation marks.
