It's come to my attention that conservatives are in desperate need of an education on their opponents (liberals), especially here on PF. I'll start.

    1) Liberals are not a hive-mind. Just because one liberal says or does something does NOT mean ALL liberals say/do those things. The sooner you understand this, the better off we will all be.

    2) Every liberal politician does not represent every liberal. It pisses me off when someone throws Maxine Waters or Nancy Pelosi in my face just because I'm a liberal. I LOATHE both botox-infested hags and want nothing to do with them. They could rot in a nursing home for all I care.

    3) "The liberal media" is only "liberal" because the people who run it claim to be liberals. It does not make them the voice of every liberal out there. I don't even WATCH any of them. Few liberals actually do, yet you cons act like all we do is listen to them. Stop that.

    4) All liberals are not racists or misogynists. Just because some of us are two-faced dumbasses doesn't mean we all are.

    5) No, I don't dislike Allen West because he's a black conservative. I dislike him because he is a disgusting, repugnant idiot who is an enemy of free thought. No, I do not dislike Sarah Palin because she is a conservative woman. I dislike her because she's unintelligent and deserted the people that trusted in her to serve them.

    6) No, disliking conservative pundits/politicians does not mean I treat liberal politicians/pundits like saints, or that I don't like any conservative pundits/politicians.

    7) Liberals do not hate America, or the constitution. I am a liberal, and there isn't a country I love more, not even my birth country. I am a liberal not because I want to destroy America, but because I believe liberal policies are better for America. I don't hate the constitution, I love it. I have an app on my phone that is the constitution, Federalist Papers, and Madison's journal. I carry a pocket constitution and Declaration with me everywhere I go. I don't hate the constitution, I just recognize that it is only a document written by imperfect (but highly intelligent) men, rather than handed down by God and written by angels.

8 ) Being a liberal does not make me an idiot. I am highly intelligent. Don't treat me like I'm stupid and I won't treat you like you're stupid, capisci?

To close, Shakespeare (though slightly edited for topic):

I am a liberal. Hath not a liberal eyes? Hath not a liberal hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, heal'd by the same means, warm'd and cool'd by the same winter and summer, as a conservative is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?

Not all Conservatives think alike either. You might think that Liberal ideas are better for America, but that means you haven't absorbed much of what Conservatives put up Because we have showed you in print and videos that much of what you believe doesn't help America, it hurts it and it takes our freedoms away.

To be fair, I've read enough of your posts now to acknowledge that you are not the typical liberal. I think a lot of your views are misguided likely due to your age and inexperience with the world, but I do think you are refreshingly honest and open-minded. You do not seem to approach most topics with the same myopic dogma as the typical liberal on this forum. And I do appreciate that and I think it speaks to your character. However, I've also seen this forum polarize a lot of people over time, and I am curious what your posts will look like six months from now if you decide to stay here.

I doubt there will be any change. I'm a liberal socialist pagan living with conservative Christian capitalists in a state that is almost entirely conservative Christian capitalists. Can't get much more polarized than that :p

Thank you for the respect you've shown me.

The problem is most of what you cite as "liberal" beliefs I do not hold to, and neither do most of the liberals I know.

This illustrates almost perfectly the problem with modern liberals: they almost always be depended on to see everything upside down and backwards.

Hasn't done you a whole lot of good, obviously.

There are plenty of intelligent idiots running around, the most notable recent example being "Justice" Roberts.

I couldn't care less. What I care about is that people who think like you are destroying this country.

Humourous admonishment from someone who wishes to "Educate Conservatives" as if we have a 'hive mind'. :boo:

What would help is seeing you criticize or condemn policies which they support. It matters little to me who you like or dislike. I, for instance, dislike John Boehner and Newt Gingrich, and was critical when Newt tried to bash Paul Ryan's plan, and was critical of Boehner on his handling of Obama's debt ceiling negotiation.

We know you don't watch; we can see the ratings. As for assuming you watch: meaningless. It's about what you say, and you and yours say doesn't sit well with most Conservatives.

No one needs to hear this.

He's nothing of the sort. He's an enemy of Socialism and Communism, because he knows the damage those ideologies are capable of doing, and have done. They are unAmerican belief systems, even though much of the ideology has inculculated itself, and is responsible for many of our ills.

    He is your enemy.

She's plenty intelligent. To admit otherwise cedes that an 'unintelligent' woman has managed to completely manipulate leftists into keeping her and her political thoughts relevant.

    Useless page filling.

They hate my America and my Constitution, and that's all that has meaning to me.

Your last admission illuminates how badly you misunderstand the document, rendering what you do or say meaningless. Your ideology is not compatible with the document.

Defensive. You're a Socialist - which you seem to have no problem freely equating with liberalism (many will deny the connection). As a Socialist, you are someone whose ideads need to be defeated.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Only when it comes to your perception of "the other side."

How many times do I have to criticize Obamacare or anti-gun laws?

I disagree, as long as conservatives like SpaceCricket try to say that liberals hate West/Cain and Palin/Coulter/Bachmann because they are black/women.

He tells people who disagree with him to "get the hell out" of America. Not only is such a person an enemy of free thought, they are an enemy to the ideals America was founded on.

No, they are not. They are not CONSERVATIVE belief systems.

    lol. Sure she is.

Well, "your" America and "your" constitution are the antithesis of the ACTUAL ones, because the only freedom to be found in yours is the freedom to agree with you...which is no freedom at all.

I fail to see how talking about peoples' perceptions of it is a statement about the document itself.

I am a liberal and a socialist. They are not necessarily connected but you can be both.

    As for "defeating," how childish.

How can you claim to be a "socialist" and "liberal" at the same time. The two are mutually exclusive.

How do you figure? I'm going off the actual definition of "liberal" and "liberalism" here, not what the American left has become.

For the most part, I agree with Unifier on this one. I'd rather talk to a refreshingly open person with which I disagree than the stagnant minds of those with which I agree.

There's no such thing as a typical liberal. We're an inherently atypical bunch.

If you don't presume that socialism is inherently authoritative, then socialism and liberalism are not mutually exclusive.

That would be free market capitalism. Still makes no sense.

The trouble is, that whether liberals watch tv or not, read whatever or not, come here or not, they seem to have all the same talking points. Do you not see that it becomes very easy to lump people together when their talking points are all the same? No, not all. But most people don't mean ALL, when they say liberals are dishonest, or Cons are greedy.

And hey, are you thinking that Liberals are not 100% as bad as Cons when it comes to talking about how Cons are all the same?

    They are.

The big trouble with the vast majority of liberals is that they are quite fearful, which makes itself apparent through their angry manner, and their apparent hatred for those who don't think like them. That's not ALL liberals, but of the libs I've met, talked to on the phone, on this forum, on other forums, on MSNBC, on Fox, on talk radio, on CNN, everywhere I see them..... the vast majority are quite angry, and have a lot of hate, which the smart ones hide fairly well.

Yea, cons have their faults too, but hate isn't one of them. Judgemental-ness abounds, but that does not imply hate.

And like libs, not ALL cons are hate-free, of course.

That's what liberals wanted to believe about themselves when it became liberally vogue to grow long hair, not bathe, smoke dope back in the 60's. I guess that hasn't changed much. It was all about individuality with the failure to realize that if you STRIVE to be an individual, you just place yourself in the NON-individual group of those who are striving to be individuals. And that ultimates in lots of hair, smell, sit-ins and other dumb behavior that thousands of people did because no one else did it, except of course for the thousands of people who were all doing the very same thing 3 feet away.

There is very much such a thing as the typical liberal.

You're not an atypical bunch, you are the bunch who is trying so hard to be different. You're pretty easy to spot. :)

I was one most of my life. Although since I knew I really WAS an individual, instead of trying to be one, I worked my way out of the liberal mindset.

    Thank God.

Authoritative what do you mean? Do you mean authoritarian? Then they are still inherently mutually exclusive. Liberalism, classical or social, is based on private ownership of the means of production and wage-labour. Socialism is based on collective ownership of the means of production and associated labour.

This is equally true for conservatism. Looking at this forum I see people describing themselves as "libhater", saying things like "people who think like you ['liberalistically'] are ruining the country," and so forth.

Hmm, yet the OP assumes he needs to educate conservatives as opposed to some conservatives. I guess one shouldn't complain if one were doing the same thing.

I've never met a leftist who didn't think himself a genius, or at least very much above average. Most don't know the difference between education and indoctrination because the latter is what they got in lieu of the former and because of that they are incapable of much that 100 years ago was expected of high school graduates no matter how many degrees in how many subjects they have appended to the end of their names. This is also why no matter how much they cliam to be different one from the other 90% of them sound the same talk the same and act the same. And then have the gall to wonder why they tend to be thought of, by people who managed, inspite of our current system of indoctrination, to get an actual education, as poorly programmed automatons.
