    Does anyone else find it odd that he surrendered to the police so easily? How do you go from massacring random and innocent people, to simply allowing yourself to be arrested? And why mention that you've booby trapped your house, after going on a killing spree?

    Only a couple of things are apparent.

    He was disturbed.
    He was in tune with Batman for some reason

    I wouldn't blame anyone but him for this. I am curious why his mother said they had the right person.

    It's the most likely and logical explanation, too. We should have learned after the Columbine, Virginia Tech and Tuscon shootings that the perps are typically anti-social lone wolves whose impulses and motives involve nothing to do with politics. This bears all the signs of an individual acting on psychological problems, personal grievances or violently malignant narcissism...

    Oh, pul-lease!!

    There is often NO state help for people with mental problems.

    A friend went to the wealthy Orange County Mental Health department because she was suicidal (in part due to trying to make a living while disabled). After 3 weeks and a 45 minute evaluation they sent her a letter telling her she did not qualify for any help.

    Then they sent her a bill for $345 for their 45 minute denial evaluation. She called me and asked me to take her guns away for a while because she was afraid she would go postal and didn't want to hurt anyone.

    In a way, they DID help in a backhanded way because she was so angry, she kept working on things and got by.

    But we can be sure anybody going for help from our vaunted "health system" has a good chance of getting jacked around to save money instead of being helped in order to save lives.

    It probably CREATES more serial killers than it stops.

    I have a bad feeling after going through my comics that he's mimicking the joker with the handing over of his own gun and booby-trapping his apartment.

    You are correct, leftlegmoderate.

    The entire incident is very bizarre.

    What if he has a brain tumor and what he did was due to this medical condition?

    A person in his right mind would not behave this way unless they were an Islamic terrorist and a suicide bomber.

    It is almost as if he is crying out for help. I’ll bet he tried to get help before but the state mental health people turned him down.

    It will be interesting to learn his motivations for doing this and how he was able to purchase the weapons he used inside the theater.

    you know I knew something bad was going to happen having to deal with this movie when a review site called rotten tomatoes hate to hold back their reviews because they had death threats if they gave a bad review about the movie.

    My heart an prayers go out to the victims and their family.

    One thing is certain.If it's true that Holmes WAS involved in any way with " Occupy "
    than that makes what ABC let little George Stephonopolis say ... Very indicting.
    That means ABC will not be able to do their usual Blackout on the possibility
    Holmes was an { Occupy Wall Street } patron.

    The grim count - if I'm reading this correctly, 130 people were killed or injured (?)...

    That casualty count conflicts with others that state 12 were killed and 38 injured:

    World's first supervillain, mayhaps?

    I know I'm not the only one thinking it. I mean, seriously. He didn't just stand up and shoot people. He got them into a crowded theatre for a superhero movie and then used TEAR GAS before shooting with multiple weapons. Oh, and his secret lair is booby-trapped.

    If I wanted to fully capture how out of touch your priorities are I would use the above post, clearly demonstrating that the really super important message to be taken away from this tragedy is how Obama sucks.

    If this were your child, your wife, your family and someone turned their deaths into a political debate you would and should be outraged and hurt. Shame on you guys.
