You don't get out much do you? Try just calmly walking into a police station if your a non-white and getting treated with respect, here, I have never seen that happen. Until 2 years ago I was as most whites here are, unaware of what our indigenous people had to go through just to be treated equally.

Blacks here are not the only ones who commit crimes, yes they have an extremely high incidence rate, but considering the hundreds of years of dispossession it is no wonder. Even my partner's brother was 5 years old before she was declared human by the Australian Government, whilst she was lucky, her people were declared human two years before she was born.

The lucky country? yes if you're white.

 

If your country is as you say it is, it sounds horrible. We still have some vesitiges of racism here, but anybody can walk into a police station here and not have a problem filing a report.

 

Well my last visit to the US was 20 years ago, but I saw it there also then. At that time I was with my first wife (white) who has since passed away from cancer. When I visit somewhere I don't do the "tourist" stuff, I get down with the natives so to speak, to try and see past that which they want me to see.

To this extent I spent time with African American and Hispanic families as well as white (brother-in-law) low income families, he was a diesel mechanic. What I saw there far exceeded what I saw here. Now however, as the videos I posted show, Australia is rapidly trying to emulate all the worst things about the US.

 

Well I don't think it fair that you judge our country based upon a single visit 20 years ago. I've lived here all my life, traveled with my company all across the states, and never seen anything close to how you describe your country. If accurate your country sounds like it has serious problems. Please don't project your country's problems on my country.

 

Absolutely 100% not true. We go with clients to file the report because they always get the runaround if they go alone. We end up having to fill out the report, send a follow up letter of memorandum to the DA's office, CRB, and FBI all because cops seem to forget where the forms are (conveniently those IA forms that would get them, their friends, etc into trouble).

 

Projecting our problems on any country is not my aim, I am willing to wear responsibility for our problems, rather it is your country that causes problems. Dragging other countries into wars over oil etc. Gangster Rap filling our young peoples minds and the spread of American Values, greed, avarice etc, yes our pollies have a lot to answer for and again it is OUR problem.

Just remarking and comparing and trying to demonstrate that this is a world wide phenomena. If you're not willing to have an open and rational discussion about it then that's cool, join the majority, stick your head in the sand and it will get worse.

well of course this administration is gonna consider them a hate group, this administration thinks anybody that doesnt agree with their point of view is a hateful racist. and secondly, my group wont be on the receiving end of this kind of retalliation, we dont go to police stations and throw (*)(*)(*)(*) at cops like spoiled children who didnt get their way, my "group" stays out of trouble and dont get into pissing matches with police officers.

throwing objects such as rocks and bottles at police officers isnt breaking the law??? assault is not against the law anymore??? wow thats interesting. and im not making anything up, the sources linked to this story have all reported what the group did. im sorry but im not gonna accept just the part of the story i agree with and call the rest of it a lie because i only consider my agenda.

ummmm it was the police who were surrounded by the group, the group got irritated and in anger started throwing rocks and bottles. the police dispersed the crowd by shooting rubber bullets, somehow an attack dog got loose and was quickly detained.

why you trying to switch up the story???

no, you dont have any evidence they didnt do anything wrong, just another dumb ass video like the Rodney King bs that only showed half the story. its in all the stories what the crowd did, just because they werent caught on video dont mean it didnt happen.

and secondly i have bashed cops a many times when i felt they were in the wrong, this just doesnt happen to be one of those times. hell you are talking to a person who was punched in the throat 3 times by an officer whom i never laid hands on or resisted, but then after was charged with assult on an officer. so please put the semantics away that i think cops can do no wrong, i just call it like i read and see it.

im probably the most unbiased person you will talk to when it comes to cops, ill call them out when i see them doing wrong.

liberals like the law when it suits them, but in situations like this they hate it because they dont like their minorities to be touched. had these people acted accordingly from start to finishthere wouldnt be a problem. hell their protest would have gotten the medias attention and the story about the cops shooting a man while he was down would have definitely made the national news just like what happened in San Fran when the cop shot the kid in the subway station. but na, these guys were pissed off and started to throw rocks and bottles.

Actually it does. If I was a cop I'd want to get my hands on exculpatory evidence that showed the crowd throwing rocks and bottles. I'd want footage that showed the whole picture.

That is true, don't get me wrong, but the police have ways of manipulating the evidence, then if a cop's word is matched against one of the crowd, I know who's side is believed. Yes successful charges have been made against cops, one is going through the courts here at present, but it was for negligent driving and another cop was badly injured.
