I'm just trying to gauge the depth of the partisanship in this country. One question ought to do it.

How many of you were excusing Bush for running up the deficit and debt by a factor of 1000 (i.e., deficits don't matter) in the early 2000s are now excoriating Obama for the same thing?

The debate has been going on for decades now, but I don't remember ANY Bush supporter criticizing him at the time.

Yes because he was still better than Kerry. Most people don't vote based on single issues but by the big picture. Do you honestly think Kerry would have spent less?

I agree with you, I think Kerry would have had his hands tied with a Republican Congress not willing to end the war in Iraq.

Look up the Two Santa Clause Theory by Jude Wanniski. That is why most on the right scream about the deficit when a Democrat is on office, but say nothing when a Republican is in office.

Do a search on David Stockman - Reagan Budget Director to see how much he exposed the flaws of Reaganomic.

The consumerism materialistic society started from Reagan, it took 30 yrs to get us where we are at today, it's gonna take a while to fix all the damages that crony-capitalism/socialism system has done to this great country.

Kind of like how most on the left scream about the war when a Republican is in office, but say nothing when a Democrat is in office?

Both sides are hypocritical in defense of their respective ideologies. When Bush was president few Republicans complained about the deficit. Now that Obama is president few Democrats complain about his escalated war in Afghanistan. The political culture dicatates hypocrisy.

Can we talk? What's there to talk about?

Not only do I blame both of them, but I will never vote for a Democrat or Republican for the rest of my life because of these two presidents!

I would also like to add for those planning on voting for Romney or Obama:

Bush was fighting two wars, that cost money.Bush also cut taxes 5%.

Now who complained on the Left when the Democrats cut the taxes 21% while fighting in Vietnam and when Johnson also started his multi billion dollar war on poverty? I some how never hear the Left talk about that. Why is that?

look at tax cut in 1965

Bush started the second one for kicks, and based on straight out LIES.

"Mushroom clouds, yellow cake from Nigeria...." blah, blah, blah. All along it was PNAC's stated goal to invade Iraq. Our "new Pearl Harbor". People have very short memories.

Right and where is your proof of that? There was two investigation into the intelligence Bush and Congress had. Both determined that theey were basically the same. So if Congress got what Bush got and said what they were saying, how is it a bunch of lies? Lets look what Dems were saying about Iraq before and after Bush came into office. We they all lying?

So...the "buck doesn't stop" with the republican commander in chief?? What'd Bush say??? "HE'S THE DECIDER"? I thought that meant that the President was the leader, and in charge. Guess not though. Must be more like 'Romney took the checks as CEO, but wasn't really CEO' huh?

Well it would seem like Obama has been blaming everyone but himself for 3 1/2 years.

He owend the company. Why shouldn't he get paid, even if he took a leave of absence, or quit? You don't think others haven't done that?

Great gig huh? Free paycheck, legally still CEO but not responsible for a darn thing except cashing his CEO paycheck (that I guess, wasn't actually his because he wasn't CEO). Apparently they just hand out CEO checks like candy huh??

No, but answering many of these posts, I am surprised how much Libs don't know. Wild accusations and most are wrong.

Obama and the Democrats are losing the war in Afghanistan politically. They've been outsmarted by a bunch of 7th century fuzzy wuzzies. Defeat=Fail.
