How someone can have the expectation that he's entitled to 94 cents on the dollar of what another man makes, simply because they live in the same country... it's beyond me.

What another man "makes" (as you call it) is merely a matter of clever manipulation of people and money + a lot of luck.

As for the 94%, Mark Zuckerberg's 2011 gross income was over $2 Billion. So the 6% he'd be left with (at a 94% tax rate) would be $180 million (for one year). Tough row to hoe for him, huh ?

As for what makes entitlement to the other 94% ? Try these on for size :

If making millions is "merely" cleverness and luck. Then instead of taxing him: merely do it yourself.

You Liberal morons... here is the truth paved with facts.

I know you liberals won't watch it, because it deals in facts and debunks your quest for other people's money.

You justify seizing 94% of what a man owns by the fact you left him "enough" to not have a "tough row"? And you feel you're entitled to have him pay for the infrastructure you own as much as him, because you want to improve it?

You don't need both your kidneys. I want to improve organ donations.

Lol. You're the clueless one if you think Pakistan is more of a threat than Russia or China.

Where did I say Iraq was an oil grab?

Lol no, it has little do nothing to do with pillaging/looting. Imperialism is, to quote Merriam-Webster, "the policy, practice, or advocacy of extending the power and dominion of a nation especially by direct territorial acquisitions or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic of other areas."

Sure, Iran could take over Iraq now, thanks to us weakening their power. Funny thing, that.

So what?

It's still imperialism.

No country is "inflicting imperialism" on us, least of all Mexico.

For one thing, they spend less on their military than Iran, at 33rd in the world (according to SIPRI). They have no credible military or any credible means to get a nuke to the US.

No, you just learned a lesson today that maybe generalizations are stupid and you should judge people as individuals rather than collectives, since that's what y'all are supposed to be about ;)

Looks like hard, cold facts to me. If we take ALL the money form all the rich people AND corporations in the US, we can't even pay for one year of the Obama spending. How is that childish??

It's his generalizations and goading I find childish, not his facts.

Then it's revealing you choose to respond only to the goading and leave the facts without response.

I don't care if they tax the rich, just please don't consider me one of the rich. I am taxed to death.

Capital gains bothers me. Especially in Washington where you have tons of inside info and can make awesome returns IN a bad economy and walk away with paying 15%. That rubs me the wrong way.

Although if I was in on that action maybe it would not bother me.....

earning $250K today is equivalent to making about $30-50K in the early fifties.
Why should anyone be taxed at the top rate for this ? That is preposterous.
This is not rich !!

Tell me about it. I play and invest as well. Short term investments get a 35% tax rate, long term bout 15%. Many investors with a lot of wealth just make crazy amount of money with insider info. So much manipulation. I think the capital gains tax should be set to like 0-10% for the first 50-100k. After that normal tax break. It's built for the wealthy.

Regardless of who and how much you tax, you cannot eliminate the deficit without substantial reductions in spending.

A federal government that consumes more than 25% of GDP is unreasonable.
A federal government that consumes less than 8% of GDP is reasonable.

And when you won't end the drug war, so as to gain resources and a tax base, instead of SCAMS and cartels and gangs and public debt, you can't cut taxes.

If all your media indicates you won't cut bad government activity and open up rational administration AND industry, simultaneously, you will just continue on, to failure, of the system, which is always trying to fail, anyway.

Bain Capital is the only way forward, for the TC kind of thinking. Leverage a company, increase its debt, and extract payments, like the Vampire Authority, in True Blood.

Without an end to the drug war or any other bogus WAR, anyone who would cut taxes can't find a way, to cut spending and so must continue, like a little monkey, caught, with his paw in a coconut, holding rice, which some guy put in there, to catch himself a little monkey.

It's the monkey's paw dilemma. Got Phillipines?
