Should the majority bow to the sensibilities of the minority?

I highly doubt courtesy and respect and thoughtfulness are going to kill any country. Might even do us in America wonders, instead of being vicious venom-spewing vermin.

Well, if you compare the situation to our current political/class situation (and according to the GOP), the majority of average class working Joes should bow to the 1%ers. So, if you use that standard, then...yes...absolutely the majority should be ignored.

 

I wouldn't compare actual medical afflictions with holding the belief that you shouldn't eat something that is a staple of billions of people. I have a friend whose family is muslim, but he is not. I gave him a couple of pounds off of a whole hog bbq I did on the 4th, and he is still alive and well.

 

Tell her to take care of her kid an you will take care of yours! It is nothing but BS!

Actually, I see the impositions of all religions equally. Those that have a particularly strict code are even more of a hindrance to those of us that simply just are.

Geez, this is something for a bunch of little kids! For ONE hour long event, can't the MAJORITY take advantage of a MILLION alternatives and make things simple so ALL the kids can enjoy ALL the food and not have to have parents and teachers hovering over EVERY BITE?

And I don't mean just pork to help Jews and Muslims enjoy themselves, but peanut allergies, wheat allergies and everything that is easily handled!

A good group is a group that works TOGETHER, not decides who is going to have the POWER to step on everyone else.

 

Show up with nothing but pork dishes. For some real fun, try chasing them around, threatening to touch them with a dreaded piece of infidel pig flesh.

I'm surprised there isn't an Islamic version of Godzilla featuring an enormous mutated pig, rather than what ever the hell Godzilla is. Someone needs to make this film.

(That is if they just did not cut your head off first).

So, since I am such an ARDENT supporter of the concept of SEPARATION BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND STATE, I say eat any #$@% thing you want to, whether it be bacon, or Chick Fil A sandwitch, or Krispy Kreme donuts, REGARDLESS of what your crazy neighbor, or the preacher, or rabbi, or imam, or vegetarian other sex says.

Except PLEASE: Do NOT eat dogs or cats.

 

Who said the majority are feeling oppressed? Such a vivid and yet delirious imagination you have. Yes, we do need to teach our kids about the deleterious affects that an obama socilaism will have on them and on their future.

So in answer to the question...should the majority bow down and kiss the dirty feet of the pathetic slackers and takers of our society....I say of course not. America has been home to the freedom fighters, the inventors, the bold, the strong, the heroes, the innovators, the entrepreneurs, thhe successful, the faithful, the inspirational, the risk takers and honorable patriots. Since when should we cater to the dregs of our society by giving them handouts, cradle to grave bennies and a lifetime of ball and chain dependency on an ever expanding government?

 

Because at some point, it becomes inconvenient or burdensome to do so. I mean seriously what is with all this "Be nice at all costs." crap anyway? Who gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) about alienating people? (*)(*)(*)(*) people and their "feelings". If they don't like bratwurst they can take flying leap out the window.

 

Because that's how you build relationships and make friends with people. Having friends is how you know your successful at life..

 

I think it depends on intent here. Personally I don't want my kids eating candy at school, cake, cookies, dyes or anything that is not natural. My oldest son has an adverse reaction to any amount wheat and both boys get funky with dyes and too much sugar. Well I don't cry unfair when there is a pizza party my 5yo knows and he will refuse. So this woman should have said please do not be offended if my children do not participate because eating pork is against our faith. There is a point where a person should not expect the world to change for them.

 

It's time to retaliate against all the "White Haters". Start by supporting only White causes just like the "White Haters" are doinjg. The minorities are all about ridding the country of any White influence or voice while pushing their own races to support only themselves. Africa's president fostered the murder of any farmer that was White. Why? Jealousy and envy. That's what we have here in America today. The White people built this nation and now the minorities want to take it all. They are doing everything possible to move the White People to the back of the bus.

Fair? I don't know, it'd be courteous but that's about it and most certainly shouldn't be an expectation.

It's not like the case with peanut allergies where consumption can have dire consequences, it's simply a preferences based on beliefs. Should we also only have to only serve Halal or Kosher meats? Good thing there are no Hindu's there as well, otherwise no beef or pork.

On the same note, no point getting in an argument about it, just do what you like and if they don't like it, tough.

No one is forcing you to do anything. But it's the courteous thing to do. If there were Hindus I'd probably make a veggie dish.

 

I have a very Italian friend.. Room mother who takes food to school for special occasions. She fixes food that ALL the children can eat.

 

I work for a tech company that, no surprise, has a ton of Indians working for us and they really appreciate when someone makes the effort to consider them when making a dish (we do pot lucks occasionally). I guess I'm also tolerant because my wife is a vegetarian so I'm used to have to cook for people with eating disabilities. =)

 

Islamics are the enemies of Christains. Paul was saying, "when in Rome do as the Romans." So the message here is that if I were to take my family to live in a fundamentalist Islamic country, I would expect THEM to make ME and my own feel welcomed. Females in our family should go to school without headcoverings or traditional dresses. But this would never happen. Their intolerance of our Western culture and religion is well, intolerable.

All cultures must be held to the same standards. If Islamics in your country don't adapt to your culture, they are in the wrong.

 

No, it is unfair to force your kids to follow their religious beliefs out of some PC attempt to not offend them. However, you should send non-pork products as well, since the Muslim students can not eat pork.
