Rasmussen has it up there. Seems this "gaffe" is the best thing that ever happened to Romney. Whooda thunk that. Rasmussen Poll: Romney Takes Lead in New Hampshire Despite two days of negative coverage over his secretly videotaped remarks during a fundraiser in Florida, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has now taken the lead in the key swing state of New Hampshire, according to a new Rasmussen poll. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in New Hampshire shows Romney with 48 percent support to President Obamas 45 percent. Four percent prefer some other candidate, and three percent are undecided. In June, Obama held a five-point lead over Romney in the Granite State, 48 percent to 43 percent, the polling firm pointed out in their remarks released Wednesday. New Hampshire now shifts from leans Obama to toss-up in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections. Obama carried New Hampshire over Republican John McCain 54 percent to 45 percent in the 2008 election. Forty-nine percent (49 percent) of the states voters now approve of the job he is doing as president, while 51 percent disapprove. This includes 30 percent who strongly approve and 43 percent who strongly disapprove. This marks little change from June. Romney, who served as governor of neighboring Massachusetts and was the winner of the states Republican Primary in January, is viewed favorably by 50 percent of all voters in the state. Thats up five points from June. But hes also viewed unfavorably by 50 percent. This includes 32 percent with a very favorable opinion of him and 37 percent with a Very Unfavorable one. This New Hampshire survey of 500 Likely Voters was conducted on September 18, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence. The candidates are separated by three points or less when voters in the state are asked who they trust more on several major policy issues. The president is trusted more when it comes to health care and energy policy. Romney has the edge on the economy, taxes and national security. This is comparable to the closeness of findings nationally, but while Romney has a seven-point lead in voter trust on the economy among voters nationwide, he has only a three-point advantage on that issue in New Hampshire. Forty-five percent of New Hampshire voters now rate their personal finances as good or excellent, while 11 percent describe them as poor. Twenty-five percent say their finances are getting better, but 41 percent think theyre getting worse. Romney has a 16-point lead among male voters in the state, while the president leads by nine among female voters. Most voters under 40 favor Obama, but the majority of their elders prefer his Republican challenger. Both candidates draw strong support from voters in their respective parties. Romney edges Obama 45 percent to 43 percent among voters not affiliated with either of the major parties. With the addition of New Hampshire, eight states are now Toss-Ups in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections: Romney also has the slight advantage in Colorado, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin; Obama has the edge in Florida, Virginia and Ohio. Romney is ahead in North Carolina, Indiana, Montana and North Dakota. The president leads in Connecticut, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Mexico and Pennsylvania.
I'd love to see the results with Gary Johnson included. Rasmussen is doing Romney a disservice by not including him, since the high percentage of Libertarians in NH will easily exceed his 3% lead there. Polls including Johnson there have put him at 7-10%
Gary Johnson is a moron. He's not even going to get 1%. Even Ron Paul thinks he's a moron. Even you're not voting for him.
So wait a minute..............rASSpublican says (R)omney is polling higher in New Hampshire then Obama. Yet in the same article, they state that The POTUS leads in New Hampshire. WTF??
Those 4 electorial votes are big but too bad obama still leads in swing states like ohio with 18the electorial votes in the very same polls. The poster who mentioned Gary Johnson has a valid point. You have to be an idiot to discount his votes in states like NH where be will pick up at least 7% of the vote.
I noticed that, too. LOL! So what is the point of this thread? That Romney as a consolation prize will get to be the PONH?
You have to remember Calminian is just a blind supporter of whoever the republican party tells you to support. Remember during the primaries, he was all for Herman Cain, Then Newt Gingrich, Then Rick Santorum, and now Romney. He flat out makes up his own "facts" and apparently doesn't actually read the articles. This my friends, is what you can desperation. At this point its looking like another 4 years of President Obama.
I'll believe it when I see it on election day. Intrade currently Obama at 67.1% and Romney at 32.8% with Obama winning 316 electoral votes. As much as I desperately want Obama kicked out of office, unless Romney starts "really" campaigning and stop making stupid statements I think this race is essentially over. The only thing that might change this is if the economic numbers turn very sour. But I was just at my bank and they are flooded with loan applications indicating a strong pick-up, at least in this area, for housing. Housing is the engine of economic growth and there is a truism in politics that people always vote their pocketbooks.
Thank you for that insightful political commentary. I think it actually changed my mind on whom I'm going to vote for.
Amazing isn't it? The neo-cons read the headline from rASSmussen, yet they completely ignore what is actually written in it. LMAO It wouldn't be so (*)(*)(*)(*) funny if it wasn't true!
Wow, you Republican cheerleaders are doing a great job trying to bring small-government advocates like me into the party! With cheerleaders like you, who needs enemies?
If Obama wasn't such a hate-monger on drug enforcement, I might be inclined to be neutral because Mitt's position on drugs is just insane ignorance. Doesn't support medical marijuana, and will fight marijuana legalization "tooth and nail"? WTF is wrong with this guy? I guess "state's rights" only matters when it's ROMNEYCARE... I've pretty much decided that I will not vote. Both candidates make me sick.
Since Illinois is so blue Obama would carry the state if video came out of him raping Justin Bieber, why not come out and vote for Gary Johnson? He will be on the ballot and could use the vote. I'm doing the same in NY in a similar situation.
Great news. BTW, don't lose heart over the polls that keep showing Obama up. Most are being heavily weighted towards Democrats. I think the average Democrat is going to be SHOCKED when the actual election takes place.
Are you kidding? Obama has a worse record than Bush on the drug war. Google Obama and medical marijuana and Obama and drug war. Read for yourself.
I saw that this morning. Now Obama leads in every national public poll. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html He leads in every public poll in Ohio which is a swing state...for now but its looking like its leanin obama to me. 18 electorial votes He is leading in every public poll in Virginia which is another swing state. 13 electorial votes Florida is closer but Obama has most polls in his favor including Rasmussen Romney has got NC which is a swing state and with 15 elctorial votes but needs to win all three states i listed above as well. I think if Obama wins Ohio its over, certainly if he wins Florida.
